Mr. W. T. McFerran late of Nelson and Wellington, has purchased the chemist's business in Rattray St. Dunedin, formerly conducted by Mr, B. Isaac. Mr. McFerran. who has had ten years' experience in the business, three of which were passed by him with Me^sra Broad and Sod, Wellington, will carry on his establishment in accordance with ihe most improved principles.
Messrs C. Johnson and Co., Maclaggan St. Dunedin, keep pace with tbe times, and have provide! a large stock of good* suitable to the season. The firms prices are unprecedentedly moderate.
Mr. W. H. Cross, of Maroa, 111., issues this : " I'll challenge any man in the world to sleep with me 142 hours for cash. I can sleep more nours in 142 than any other man in the world."
Emperor William has sent an autograph letter to the municipal authorities of Berlin congratulating them upon the exemplary demeanor of the citizens ana the admirable police regulations during ihe visit of the Czar. It was a relief all round when the Russian party departed.
The project of a Bismarck Museum in Berlin is progressing very favourably, and promises a decided success. A large amount of money and a great number of interesting objects have been collected for the proposed institution, and it is likely to be oae of the most interesting features of the German capital. It will be open >.d on the first of April next, which is the anniversary of Bismarck's birthday , The great chancellor will then be 74 years old.
