CONCERT IN ST. PATRICK'S HALL, PANMURE.

A TABIKD and very interesting concert took place in the above spicious hall on Friday evening last (Queen's Binhday), Monsiguor McDonald presiding. Tne hall looked bright and cheerful, and the audience, one of the largest that has assembled there for some time past, were both amused and delighted at the proceedings. The Onehunga Brass Band, under its talented conductor, Mr. Hunter, aroused the villagers with sweet music before the commencement of the concer, and an additional charm was infused into it by the well-selected pieces, and the effective rendition of the same during lue evening. The pupils of the school, traiued by their efficient and p (instating teacher, Misa Houau, icuJered gooi service, and thdr well-chosen songs, with the pleasing execution < f the same, called tortb rounds of welbmertted applause from the large audience. Mrs. Fleming and Miss Honan accompanied the various songs on the piano, and gave every satisfacion. The evening was one of the happiest passed in Paatnure for many years, and will be long remembered by one and all with mingled feelings of pride and pleasure. Monsignor McDonald failed not to say a word of thanks to his musical friends and the audience. Tbe proceeding concluded with the " National Anthem," by the band. The refreshments were both abundant and choice. The following comprised the programme for the evening : — Overture, the band; song (trio), by the pupils; Bong, M»ss Hogan ; so .g, Mr. O'Halloran ; song, Miss Malone ; recitation (Irish), Mr. Fnzpatrick ; song, Miss Donovan ; sword dance, Mr. McDonald. Second part : Overture, by the band ; chorus, the pupils ; recitation, Mr. Fitzpatnck ; song, Miss Donovan ; song, Mr. O'Halloran ; duet, Mi*s Bright and Master Harry Sykes (pupils) ; cornet solo, Mr. Hunter ; Highland fling, Mr. McDonald.
