Dear Sir.— Feeling that Irishmen all the world over are called on to lend a helping hand to Mr. Parnell and his party in the terrible struggle for justice and truth in which they are now engaged ia tho Commission Court in London, I hereby send you a cheque for five guineas towards the Parnell Defence Fund, hoping that the acknowledgment of this sum will not long stand alone in your columns this new year.— l am, etc., Dunedin, January 2.
