GRAIN AND SEED REPORT.
Messes Samuel Ohr and Co., Stafford street, report for the week ending Augußt 29 as follows :— Wheat : Millers here are pretty well filled up, having laid in stocks in anticipation of the rise. We quote for prime milling up to 3s 4d ; medinm, 3s to 3s 3d ; fowls' feed, 2s 5d to 2s 9d. Oats : The local demand is weak. Prime milling, 2s; medium, la 10£ dto la ll£d ; bright feed, la 9£d to Is lOfrd. Barley : Very little business doing. Quotations nominal — f :«• pnm« malting, 4s to 4s 3d ; milling, 3s 3d ; feed, 2s to 2s 6d. Chaff.— The demand is good and the arrivals limited. Firstclass oaten sheaf commands up to £3 ; ordinary, £2 10s to £2 153. Potatoes.— We quote : Prime Northern, £3 7s 6d to £3 15s ; Southern, £3 to £3 ss. Seeds.— Ryegrass : Orders are coming to hand more freely, and some good sized parcels are changing hands. Cocksfoot : A v«ry fair demand exists for this seed. We quote prices at from 3d to Ud, according to quality. Clover Seeds : These are iri good demand, and as the i Trevelyan, which has a large quautity on board, has not yet turned np, better prices may be looked for.
