TABLET. t^T^*.* m< r e t in £ of the Council of the Wanganui Branch of the imn National League held here on the 10th inst , it was resolved l^A, ™- Urn °l £ 7 0 ' in aid of the Irißh National League be forwarded to the Editor of the New Zealand Tablet, for transmission to Dublin la accordance with that resolution we have now much pleasure in sending you herewith a draft for *70, which amount is to be paid into the general fund of thd Irish National League, Dublin, to be used by them for whatever purpose they may deem most requisite. The selection of the party to whom you will make the draft payable is left to your own discrevft • L „ above Bana about £46 ftre tne net proceeds of a concert held in the Princess Theatre here on the 18th ultimo, in aid of the funds of the local Branch of the Irish National League, and which was an unqualified success, being one of the most enjoyable amateur entertainments ever held in Wanganni. We were ably assisted in carrying out the programme by the leading vocal and dramatic amateurs of the district, and most generously supported by the public, irrespective of creed or nationality. This amount was further anemented by a subscription of £7 odd, collected from a few friends and sympathisers in the Manawatu Gorge. If not troubling you too much in this matter, we would request of you when communicating with Dublin, that this amount be acknowledged as having been leceived from Wanganui,— We are, etc., W.
