LAND BOAR D.

THB ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held yesterday. Present: The Chief Commissioner (Mr. J. P. Maitland), Messrs. Logan, Clark, and Dallas. Kurow.— lt was decided to offer the following runs as under : — Ban 23a, 8800 acres, for 10 years, at £100 p< r annum ; Run 23b, 10,618 acres, for 10 years, at £180 ; Run 230, 9555 acres, for 10 years, At £160 ; Bun 23d, 8730 acres, for 10 years, at £140.

Pembroke. — S. C. Hedditch applitd for a jetty site of half an •ere. with foieshore, at Pembroke, opposite sections 26 and 28, block IX. Ranger Adair recommended favourably. License to issue for seven years at fee of £2 per annum. Tiger H;ll.— Mr. W. L. Simpson, on behalf of William Leask, applied for grazing right over section 5, block 1., Tiger Hill, on usual conditions. — Referred to the chief commissioner.

Lander.— John Ewing, Chairman Maniototo County Council, wrote asking if anyone recommended by the council might occupy the quarry reserve, section 1 , block V., Lauder, on usual conditions. Eeferred to the chief commissioner.

Suburban Land. — The Chief Commissioner suggested that sections 6 to 9 and 10 to 12, block IV., Waikouaiti township, should te declared suburban land and offered for sale. — Land to be classified as suburban, subject to approval of the Governor-in-Council, and to be offered at upset price of £3 per acre.

Maniototo. — The Under-secretary of the Crown Lands Department wrote stating that it bad been decided to include sections 8 to 10, block IX., Maniototo, in the schedule of lauds opened under the Land Act, instead of offering them as small grazing runs as recommended.—Received.

North-East Valley.— W. Wenlock, J. Reid, and Mrs. M'Neil applied to purchase about 16 poles of an old road line adjoining sections 43 and 46, in the North-Bast Valley.— Adjourned for a fortnight to enable the parties to come to an agreement in the matter.

Applications.— An application by Richard Campbell to purchase aeetion 25A, block VII., Shotover, under agricultural lease, was Approved. The application of Wilson Hall to transfer his deferred-payment license of section 18,' block 1., Wendonside, to Albert Hall, was referred to the Southland Board.

The licensee of Run 217 b, applied for a reduction of the upset rental of £150, but the board declined to reduce the rent further

F. Singers application for a coal mining lease over section 18a, block VI, Mount Hyde, was referred to the ranger for report. Mount Hyde. — The District Engineer asked that sections 27 and 30, block IV, Mount Hyde be witheld from sale pending survey of the road threongh section 30 to the railway station. — Resolved accordingly. Road Lines.— The Mount Stewart Road Board forwarded plans of roads on which they proposed to expend £67 2s derived from deferred-payment lands. The Waikouaiti County Council forwarded plans on which they proposed to expend £112 5s 2d, derived from deferred-payment and perpetual lease moneys ; and the Bruce County Council also forwarded plans on which they proposed to expend the sum of £15 9s lOd. — The road lines in each case were approved by the board. Glenkenich. — The Chief Commissioner laid before the board surveys of sections 1 to 10, block XVII., Glenkenich district, with a ▼law of their seing dealt with.— Board resolved to recommend Government to proclaim the land as village settlement and small farm allotments on deferred payment, as formerly, at £3 per acre.

Swinburn. — with respect to Swinburn village area sections 10 and 2L to 25, block IV., it was also resolved to recommend the land being set apxrt as • village settlement and email farm allotments at £1 5s per acre. Appointment of Wardens. — The following election Jot wardens were advised and duly noted by tthe boat d : — Hawea* Hundred : Donald M'Lennard, John Fox, John M'C&r.hy, and William Kingman. No wardens having been elected for the undermentioned distorts, appointments were made as follows : — Bast Taieri, Alexander Spence ; Strath Taieri, John Elliot. Hannington was declared the lessee of sections 11, 12, and 18, block IV., Lauder, as the npset price of Is ; tad Thomas Eennett of section 50, block 11., Earnslaw, at the npset.
