OUR MEETING ON THE SEA (AT WATERFORD).
Air — " My boat is on the shore." We jumped into our boats, We rowed them from the land, While up and down, with scowl and frown, The peelers paced the strand ; Then clustering round the craft That bore our good P.P., In proud array we held that day Our meeting on the sea. Our meeting on the sea, my boys, Our meeting on the sea, Alert and gay we held that day Our meeting on the sea. The peelers strained their eyes And stretched their eager ears, But not a word or sound they heard Save rounds of ringing cheers, And then the merry strain Of music floating free, As oared along we closed with song Our meeting on the sea. Our meeting on the sea, my boys, Our meeting on the sea, Full loud and strong we closed with song Our meeting on the sea. We rowed our boats to shore And went upon our way, But treasured deep each heart will keep Each word we heard that day ; And all we vowed to do Bight bravely done shall be, Sure as the sun looked down upon Our meeting on the sea. Our meeting on the set, my boys, Our meeting on the sea, Bure as the sun smiled down upon Our meeting on the sea. — Nation. T;D.S.
