ENTERTAINMENT.

On Wednesday evening the annual concert by scholars of the Convent L-chools, was given at the Town Hall, Qaeenstown, but for some reason or another the attendance was small. The affair, however, was very enjoyable, and many of the pieces were greatly applauded. The choruses were sung in capitl time i.nd voice, and some of the performers showed a marked improvement sinse their previous appearance, in fact reflecting great credit upon then teachers. Mrs. Brebner and some former pupils (Miss Malaghuu and Master L. de Beer) also kindly assisted. At the conclusion of the entertainment the Rev. Father Mackay came forward and thanked tbc audience for their patient hearing and generous applause— ihe more especially as it was not to be expected that the little ones could give such satisfaction as more accomplished adults ; nor bad they sufficient confidence to be able to acquit themselves as well in public as before their teachers.
