' \ ' A return issued recently states the number of persons wholly or partially boycotted in each county in Ireland durine the last th»w quarters of 1885 and during January and Febrnar^ of the preSeTt year, and also the number of prosecutions for intimidation which have taken place under the ordinary law since the expiration of the Prevention of Crimes Act. During the quarter ended June 30 1885 80 persons were wholly boycotted, and 219 partially : in the next quarter the figures rose to 179 and 706 respectively, and at the end of the year the numbers were 175 and 716. In January the cases of total boycotting were 181 and of partial 719-figures which practical?? remained unchanged during the month of February. The counties ? n 7' J lppe l ary S ° Uth> Limerick . Donegal, Wicklow, Kerry and Waterford are those in which total boycotting is most frequent The return also states that there have been 181 prosecutions under the ordinary law and 84 convictions for intimidation since the expiration of the Coercion Act.
