J . i±. julgoub, grain and produce broker, reports, under above date, as tollows : — Wheat : The local market continues quiet, but some lines have been taken up for shipping, and I have placed 1200 bushels prime white velvet at 3s Id to 3s 2d. Other milling descriptions are without inquiry. Fowl feed is in rather better demand at 2s 2d to 2s 3d. — Oats : The recent demand for shipping has slackened, but prices are without alteration, and I quote Is B|d for bright short oats, and Is 7d to Is B£d for sparrowbills ; discoloured lots, Is '5d to Is 6d.— Barley : Nothing doing.— Chaff : Supplies have not been coming to hand so freely, and recent heavy arrivals are being gradually worked off. Price this week, £2 15s.— Potatoes : Prime Der- ' wents, £3 2s 2d ; kidneys move off slowly at £2 15s to £3 per ton, ( early sorts being preferred.— Butter : Prime salt is wanted at up to 9d for really choice lots ; fresh, Is to Is 2d.— Eggs : Is per dozen.— Turnips : 20s per ton for best swedes.— -Carrots have receded to 355, with a very slow sale. Meena.n, King street, reports :— Wholesale prices, including bags : Oats, Is 6d to Is 9d ; wheat, milling 3s to 3s 1 £<i, fowls' feed Is 6d to 2s 6d ; barley, malting 3s to 3s 3d : milling 2s Od to 2a 6d, feeding 2s; oaten »hay, £3; rye-graap, £3 ; chaff, £2 10s to £3 ; straw, £1 15s to £2 ; bran, £3 10s to £3 15s ; pollard, £4 10s; flour, £7 15s to £8 10s; oatmeal, £10 10s; fresh butter, medium to prime, lid to Is 2d; eggs, Is; salt butter, B£d to 9d; cheese, 4d to 5d ; bacon, 7£d in rolls, hams lOd ; potatoes, Derwents £3 to £3 ss, kidneys £2 10s.
