Died, ou Sunday, August 17, at his residence, Tubbeinavine— tbe bouse occupied by father and grandfather for the past 150 years —at the patriarchal age of ninety-two, Edward Macriale, last survivin? brother of the late Archbishop of Tuam, Most Key. John Mac Hale. The late illustrious Archbishop lived ninety-three years • and bis brother had now at his death attained the remarkable longevity of ninety-two yeara. These ages, and those of father atid grandfather, who were quite patriarchal in their time, are a proof of tbe naturally long-lived character of the family and of the salubrious character of the climate of Tirawley. Regarding the deceased, he was, during life, a quiet, plain, anaffected, honest man. He was| on account of his artiessness, liked by all who knew him. There was a great gathering of the Clan Mac Hale, at his death and obsequies, from Glenhurst to Ballina, and from Belmullet to Castlebar. The remains were interred in the family burial-ground, near those of his brother Thomas. At the funeral were : the parish priest, Bey. Patrick Mac Hale, who official ei ; Very Rev. Dr. Costello, Rev. Canon Mac Gee, P.P., Agliah, Castlebar ; Canon U. J. Bourke, P.P., Claremorns; Patrick Boland, P.P., Ardagh, near Ballini ; P. J. MacPhilpin, C.C., Keelogues ; John Mac Hale, C.C., Newport ; Anthony Mac Hale, C.C., Ballina; Michael Ma3Hale, CO., Adergoole; Michael Claike, Crossmolina. Mr. John Walsh, J.P., Castlehill, the lord of the manor, was present, and many respectable farmers from Ballina to Castlebar. May his soul rest in peace !
