Messrs. Donald Reid and Co. report for week ending Wednesday December 26th, 1883, as follows :— ' Fat stock. — Owing to the holidays the sale of fat stock will be held on Thursday. , -Sheepskins— At oar sale, which, as usual, was held on Monday, we put forward a large catalogue, made up mostly by consignments from the country. There was very little demand for anything but full woolled merinos, cross-breds again ruling vary low. Butchers' green skins sold at— merinos, 3s lOd to 6s ; cross-breds, 3s to 4s 8d ; lamb skins, 9d to 13d ; pelts, 7d to 9d. Country dry lots at — crossbreds, Is 3d to 3s 8d ; merinos, Is 4d to 4s 4d ; lamb skins, 7d to 8d : pelts, 3d to 12d. Rabbitskins. — None offered this week. Hides. — We have little change to report as regards values, but as the supply is small prices for heavy sorts are firmer. ' Tallow. — On Monday we cleared out all to band at, for a small lot extra fine rendered, £32 10s ; medium, £25 to £28 ; inferior, £18 ; butchers rough fat, £18 to £28 per ton. Grain.— Wheat : This maTket is now almost cleaned out, and there are numerous inquires for best sorts. Millers, however, are very reluctant to give advanced prices. Stock of medium and infeeior quality is now moving off at better prices. Oats : During the yarly part of the week a fair business was done, mostly in short heavy bright feed for export. Inferior and discoloured are not much wanted. We sold 2140 sacks. Barley : We sold a line of malting at 3s 6d. Ryegrass : A few small orders have been executed at for machine-dressed to 4s 6d. We quote best milling wheat, 4s Id to 4s 3^d; medium, 3s 7d to 4s; interior and crisp feed, 5s 3d to 3s Id. Oats : Milling, Is 9£d to Is lOd ; feed (best short), Is 9d ; long oats, Is 8d ; inferior, Is 7d. Potatoes are,dull at 30s, hags extra. PRODUCE MARKET. Messes. Mehceb Bros., Princes street, report :— Fresh butter (in Jib. and lib. prints), best quality, 8d per lb. ; ordinary butter, 6d per lb. ; eggs, Is Id ; roll bacon, 7£d per ft ; good salt butter, in kegs, 6d per lb. ; cheese, s£d per lb. Mb. F. Meenan, Great King street, reports : — Wholesale prices, Oats, Is 6d to Is lOd per bushel ; milling wheat, 3s 6d to 4s 3d per bushel ; fowls' wheat, 2s to 3s ; barley, malting, 4s to ss ; milling, 3s to 3s 6d ; feeding, 2s to 3s ; hay, oat, £4 10s per ton ; rye-grass hay, £4; chaff, £3 10s to £4; Btraw, £2 to £2 ss; bran, £4; pollard, £4 10s; potatoes, £2 to £2 ss; oatmeal £10 10s ; flour, £10 to £10 10s j fresh butter, medium to prime, 7d to lOd per lb., salt, 8d per lb. ; eggs, Is 3d per dozen ; bacon, sides, 8£ per ft. , rolls, 8d ; hams, lOd ; pork, 4|d ; cheese, dull of sale, 4d to 6d.
