GODLESS SCHOOLS BECOME PROTESTANT.
The Milton School Committee, as we learn from the Daily Times of yesterday, has decided that the school there shall be opened daily by the reading of the Lord's prayer and the Bible from 915 a.m. The example of the High School, Dunedin, is telling on their country cousins. We may expect that in a short time the hypocrisy of secularism will be universally flung to the winds, and that the public schools will be every one of them what they were really intended to be from the beginning — intensely Protestant institutions, maintained at the public expense 1 We commend these two items to the Minister of Education, whose approbation has been, no doubt, counted on by the school authorities, who are now plucking up courage to throw off the mask .
