THE wings on either side projecting north and south fr,>m the nave end will have the ridges of their roof level with the eaves of the clerestory, and each of their gable en ,g will conttin a triple-pointed lancet window with the centre lancet rising within the line ©f the gable ; the front of these wings will have each an upper Btory with six plain mou'ded lancets, and the lower floor a gabled and richlydecorated canopied entrance door. ' The tower, which rises |rqm the centre of the building will be formed by four masonry piers passing through the roofs up to the ridge level. Bach pier will be strengthened by four plain atone buttresses constructed in two ramps with dressed stone weatherings.

From this level to the spring of the apire tha piers will be strengthened at their angles with four clustered columns divided into four lengths, then terminating with an open work octagonal turret surmounted by a moulded and crocketed octagonal pinacle rising a little wore than one third the height of the spire. The apse will have three large triple-pointed tracery windows and four decorated buttresses, with pinacle and nitched Heads, and richly-moulded and decorated eaves. '1 he data for the finish of the interior of the building is as yet insufficient to give other than a brief description of the following main features : AH the floors will be laid in Wharam's patent woodblocking laid on concrete, the richness of design varying according to the' various portions of the church on which it is laid, The roofs of the aisles will be open timoer, with chamfered and bosssd principals and purlins carried on carved stone corbuls. The nave transepts and sanctuary will be wood panelled and dec )rated with carved ribbi g, in various degrees for the different purlins. The piers qfHbe clerestory arches will be of stone in five clustered columns, having plain moulded caps and bases of stone. The materials for the construction may be briefly describad a" follows : The foundations of cement concrete, with a mjuld^sl ba?e to the entire building of dressed bluestone ; the dressings and decoration of the walls, etc , and the tower, as also the interior facing of the walls, in Oamaru or a similar st me.
