Mb. Donald Stbokaoh (on behalf of th« New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited) report* for the week ending November Ist as follows : — Fat Cattle.— An excessive supply was yarded to-day, consisting of 414 head, 100 being stores and dairy cows. The market was in consequence depressed and suffered a decline of about 2s 6d per 1001 b. Bullocks fetched from £7 2a 6d to £13 2s 6d, and cows £7 16s to £10 78 6d. We sold consignmeats as follows: — On account of Mr. A. Thomson, 36 bnllocks, at from £10 to £13 7s 6d ; on account of Mr T* Davidson, Wyndham, 13 cows, at up to £8 2s 6d ; also, drafts on account of Messrs Wayne and LeaTy, Greenaway aud Macandrew, at quotations. We quote best beef 27s 6d per 1001 b. Fat Sheep.— 2326 were penned (440 of which were merinos). Prices ruled about equal to last week's market, say cross-breds in the wool from 12a 9d to 18s 3d, and merinos, 10s 9d to l«s 6d. We sold drafts of shorn cross-breds on acconnt of Messrs. J. Mein, at 9s 6d ; S. Adam, jun., at 9s 3d ; and of woolly, on account of Mr. S. S. Quartley at 148 3d. Quotations for prime mutton, 2sd per lb. Fat Lambs.— A very full market— 6B6 being offered and sold at from 63 3d to 11s 3d. Our sales were on account of Messrs. Crusckshank, J. and S. Wilron, J. Mein, Jessop, and Robson, at quotations Fat pigs. — 139 yarded and sold at from 7s to 61s. Wool. — We sold as undernoted on Monday, prices showing no alteration from those of last local sales : — Greasy : B, 2 bags fleece, 7|d ;do JCB, 3 bales long wool, 7^d. Scoured : SW, 2do cross-bred, B|d ; do, TN in triangle, 1 do Ist combing merino, Is 7jd ; do, do, 1 do Ist half-bred, Is 3jd. We purpose holding a sale at the Otago Wool Stores on Tuesday, 14 th November. Sheepskins. — We brought forward a very large catalogue on Monday. The attendance of buyers was scarcely equal to tne average. Competition was uneven, and prices consequently irregular — on the whole, scarcely supporting last week's. Dry and station skins fetched from 4s 2d to 5s for cross-breds, and Is 4d to 5s for merinos ; butcher's crossbreds sold from 03 to 6s 6d, and merinos up to 5s 5d ; lambskins, Is to Is 4d each. Rabbitskini. — At auction this we*k we sold 19 bags and 14 bales, prices on the whole ranging at about the level of last sales — say, 14£ dto 17^d per lb. for well-furred skins in shipping condition, 12£ d for medium, 4|d to 9d for suckers and inferior. Hides are without change, quotations being well supported — viz., 4d per lb. for well-trimmed heavy hides, 3d to 3id for inferior. Tallow. — Competition was good at public sale this week, and an advance of about Is per cwt. was established for tallow, which sold at np to 32s 6d for well-rendered. Butchers' rough fat fetched up to 22s per cwt. Grain. — Wheat : We quote 4s 9d for prime milling wheat, but in the absence of transactions this must be considered nominal. Fowl feed, 2s 6d to 3s 9d. Market quieter. Oats : Market is somewhat weaker, as, in consequence of advices of lower prices in Australia, business is restricted in the uncertainty as to the future course of the market. Quotations for good bright short feed oats, 3s Id to 3s 2d ; milling, 3s 3d. Barley : No movement to report,
