Messrs. Burton Bros, and Co., the well-known photographers, Piinccs street, Dunedin, have now ou hand a very rinu collection of views of New Zealand scenery. The pictures in question are executed with all the skill for which the firm are remarkable, and display in their selection a most artistic taste. The portraits executed by the firm also continue to hold their high place. As evidence of the decline of bigotry in high places, it may be mentioned that the School Management Department of the London School Board ha 9 recently apphinted three Catholic head mistresses. Although Fome years ago a Catholic filled with considerable success the post of head master in one of the Board Schools, no member of the Church occupies such a post now. It may be mentioned, however, that eight Catholics are employed by the Board as assistant-masters.
