Occasional Sates.

The R'iv. Father Hennebery arrived in Dunedin from Ashburton on Monday evening last. The Rev. Missionary, will open a mission at luvcrcargill on Sunday next, 30th inst. His Lordship the Bishop of the Diocese leaves Dunedin to-day for a visit to St. Bathans, Nascby and the Dunstan. His Lordship will return to Dunedin next week. St. Patrick's day was celebrated in Auckland by a fete in the domain. The chief feature of the occasion was the presence of some 3000 children, pupils of the Catholic schools, under the superintendence of the Very Rev. Father Fynes, V.G., and the Rev. Fathers M'Donald and O'Dwyer. Mb. J. Daly, head master of the Catholic School at Waipawa, Hawkes Bay, has been appointed agent in that district for the N.Z Tablet. We beg to acknowledge the receipt of " Index to the Laws of New Zealand.'" by John Cumin, 8.A., of the Inner Temple.
