HIBERNIAN AUSTRALASIAN CATHOLIC BENEFIT SOCIETY, ST. JOSEPH'S BRANCH, NO. 73.

The eleventh quarterly meeting of the above Branch "was held, on Monday evening last. The President occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. Bro. J. <T. Connor was unavoid- ; ably absent, and having forwarded the usual apology was excused. Certificates from the Medical attendant were read declaring Bro. ±?. Cunningham off anclßro. J. Drumro on the sick fund. Correspondence Xottors were read from Bro. E. H. Huntley, Napier (through Mr. Jj . J. Bunny), J. J. Lawler, Lawrence, and the Corresponding Secretary, iii reference to thn appointment of a deputy. Bro. E. Carroll moved, and Bro- M. Connellan seconded, that the letter of the C.S. stand over until the sub-Committee brought up their report on the postponed amendments of laws. -en The nomination r of officers was then proceeded with, -fcor tne office of President, Bros. J. Brennan, E. Can-oil, and E. Carroll were nominated. Vice-President, Bros. J. J. Connor and John Leary ; Secretary, Bro. John Cantwcll ; Treasurer, Bro. M. Connellan ; Warden, Bi-o. G. Hesford ; Guardian, Bros. E. Kirk and W. Conway ; Sick visitors, Bros. P. Pagan and Lyng ; Medical Attendant, Dr. M. 1). Murphy, unanimously re-elected, the members being highly pleased with his past services. The Secretary was instructed to call for tenders for the supply oi Moved by Bro. Cantwell, and seconded by Bro. Connelliin thai, this meeting at its rising do adjourn until Tuesday, 30th inst., in consequence of the usual meeting night falling on a holiday — (earned). During the evening, Bro. O'Driscoll, from the llokitika Branch, was introduced to the meeting aud accorded a nearly welcome by the members. Cash received, £17. The meeting closed with prayer.
