BISHOP MORAN AND THE PALMERSTON SCHOOL
COMMITTEE. Th» following letter has appeared in the ' DaHy Times ' s— > v ib, — Having read your report of Bishop Moran's remarks q« the election of a School Teacher not a hundred miles from Dunsdin,. aiso, sotne letters front correspondents at Palm?rston, endeavouring to contradict the same. Knowing the circumstances of the case, I conoider it but right to say a few words on the subject. In the first pl&pe,' I fail to see one word in Bishop Moran's remarks but what is quite correct, which I regret I am not in a position to say for your correspondents who have attempted to contradict him ; however, si the public here have already formed a pretty correct idea of the inconsistency of their actions and writings, I will say no moro on that head. .. It is very much to be regretted that through the interference of a few who imagine they represent the wishes of the majority, our system of , education should be thrown into disrepute, vnd made the subject of religious discord. — I am, He , OB3BBTEB. Palmerston, 2nd April.
