JOHN AND THE NEW ZEALAND RED CROSS SOCIETY, Bank of New Zealand Chambers, Swanson Street, a five-valve Philips mantel model broadcast radio, serial No. 1000, light gold-coloured cabinet about 24 in. by 18 in., oblong dial ; value, £l4. Identifiable. Since 16th February, 1943, the radio was on loan to R.N.Z.A.F. Hospitals at Seagrove, Mangere, and Remuera, but it cannot now be found.

Auckland.-: the 15th June last and 6th August, from a yard at Jellicoe Street, the property of MASON BROS. ENGINEERING CO., Pakenham Street, Freeman’s Bay, about four tons of dark-grey rubber-covered cable, green canvas covering, painted grey with red lead thereon, known as 19/052 TRS 18-strand cable, in lengths 9 ft. to 15 ft. suitable for scrap copper only; value, £240. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —16th August last, the property of JESSE GWYTHERM ROOD, R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Ardmore, a black soft leather overnight bag, buckle in centre and on each end, two leather handles, “J. G. Rood ” in ink on inside, containing an Agfa folding camera, takes 620 film, in light-brown leather case with shoulder-strap ; a chromatic mouth organ, German make, in light-brown case ; nine bottles of beer ; two verichrome films, size 620 ; two sets of shaving gear; a khaki towel; four packets of cigarettes; and bandages ; total value, £35 10s. Identifiable. The offence, may have been committed by a Man (name unknown) naval rating, native of England ; wearing uniform of Royal Navy. On above date while in conversation with a friend in Queen Street, complainant left his bag on the footpath. The man described joined' in the conversation for a few minutes and shortly after he left complainant was informed that the bag was missing.

Hamilton. —Between the 4th and 9th June last, from a room in the Commercial Hotel, the property of ELIZABETH ANN MORRISON, a dark-brown musquash fur coat, full length, fit woman 5 ft., large roll collar, brown crepe de Chine lining with stitching design thereon renewed near collar, two large brown buttons with small imitation mother-of-pearl button in centre of each ; value, £45. Identifiable.

Frankton Junction. 24th August last, from the clothing factory of Wilkinson and Son, the property of VIOLET GLADYS EICHSTEAD, 6 Blackburn Street, a ladies’ gold oblong Titan 15-jewel wristlet watch, about 1 in. long, goldcoloured numerals, black leather wrist-strap with gold buckle; value, £lO 10s. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Joy Mary Mclntyre Shaw, referred to in Police Gazette, 1945, page 27, who was seen in the factory about the time the offence was committed, and who is believed to have been wearing a watch similar to that described. She has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Stephen Francis Llewellyn Neary, referred to in Police Gazette, 1945, age 658, and Photographs, 1932, page 52, who was in the lounge about the time the offence was committed with Elizabeth Pearl Stobie, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 964, and Photographs, 1939, page 85, and Andrew McGuinall Brown stobie, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 964, and Photographs, 1939, page 74. The latter alleges that Neary had the camera in his possession when they left the hotel. Neary has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.
