Devonport. — Harry Anthony Kelsey, absent from Navy, has been arrested by the Mount Eden police. He assumed the name Lawrence Andrew Jenkins. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 209.)
Auckland. — Eric William Tennant, absent from Army, has been arrested by the military authorities. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 489.)
Auckland. — James Rudolph Jurievich, alias Jurie, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1945, page 545): On 3rd instant, the Court of Appeal varied the sentence of “ 6 weeks’ imprisonment ” to a “ fine of £100.” All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
Auckland. — Henry George Bennett, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 645.)
Auckland. — Joe Smith, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Taupo police. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 645.)
Auckland. Francis Whitehead, referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, page 468, and Photographs, 1921, page 107, died at Auckland on or about 3rd instant.
Auckland.— Frank Harold Crosland, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1945, page 585, where the offence should read “ exhibiting double-chart ” and not “ establishing lottery ”) : On 27th ultimo, the Court of Appeal quashed this conviction, and it is to be deleted from all copies of the Police Gazette.
Onehunga. — Lionel George Hood, theft, has been interviewed by the Petone police, and he admitted the offence, but the stolen blankets have not been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 486.) • '
Waihi. — Kirikau Poi, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Taupo police. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 613.)
Gisborne. —John Hugh Thomson, failing to maintain, has been served with the summons. (See Police Gazette, 1931, page 179.) /
Wanganui. —John Joseph Walsh, suspected of theft, has been interviewed by the Auckland police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 630.)
Foxton. —Leslie John Walding, inquired for, has paid his Social Security Contributions, and no further action is dosired. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 367.)
Otaki. —Paul Eugene Van Hanslaer, alias Henry Edward Thomas Wakelin, failing to maintain, has been dealt with at Wellington for this offence. (See Police Gazette, 1945. page 455.)
Wellington. John Torpey, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1943, page 527.)
Wellington. —William John Jones, deserting ship Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1945, page 506.)
Wellington. Albert Henry Betteridge, absent from Army Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 447.)
Wellington. —Ernest Burrows, deserting Army : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1943, page 679.)
Christchurch. —William George Boyd, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 426, and Photographs, page 55, died at Methven on Ist instant.
Gore. William Ewart Gladstone McKenzie, alias MacKenzie, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Culverden police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 520.)
