ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of September, 1945

Present: His Excellency the Governor-General in Council

Pursuant to the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following Order.

ORDER

1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Regulations Revocation Order 1945.

2. The regulations specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby revoked. ...

3. Every license to which the Cinematograph Films Exhibitors’ Licenses Emergency Regulations 1943 applied and which is in force on the date of this Order shall, unless it is sooner surrendered or revoked, continue in force until the 30th day of September, 1946. 4. Every license to which the Explosives Licenses Emergency Regulations 1942 applied and which is in force on the date of this Order shall, unless it is sooner surrendered, cancelled, or revoked, continue in force until the 30th day of June, 1946. 5. Every extraordinary vacancy to which the Local Elections and 1 Polls Emergency Regulations 1942 applied and which exists on the date of this Order shall, for the purposes of section 42 of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925,* and of section 39 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of any other enactment relating to the filling of extraordinary vacancies, be deemed to have occurred on the date of this Order.

6. Without limiting the operation of section 20 of the Acts Interpretation Act, 1924,f it is hereby declared that the revocation of the Radio Emergency Regulations 1940 shall not affect the indemnity given to the Minister of Telegraphs by Regulation 23 thereof in respect of any loss or damage to apparatus in his custody, whether occurring before or after the date of this Order.
