Kaitaia. —15th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Jean Laming, and child, Lawrence Geoffrey Laming, referred to in Police Gazette, 1945, page 505. Auckland. June last, for false pretences, Mr. Laming, age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 11 in., native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, plausible, appeared to have a slight limp. On above date he obtained £1 7s. 6d. in money from Robert Maru Bell, newspaper agent, 3 Haast Street, Remuera, by falsely representing that he had obtained a position in the publishing department of the New Zealand Herald, and that he required the money to travel to his home at Whangarei to obtain working clothes. He may be identical with Lawrence Geoffrey Laming, referred to in Police Gazette, 1945, page 505, and preceding paragraph. No warrant. / / _

Palmerston North. —20th July last, on warrant for theft of a suitcase and contents (recovered), value £25, the property of Peter Jones, 10 Carnavon Street, Gisborne, Lionel George Hood, referred to in Police Gazette, 1945, page 486, and Photographs, 1937, page 3 ; wearing a tweed overcoat with grey and black flecks, navy-blue suit, grey pull-over, tan shoes, and light-grey felt hat. On above date complainant’s suitcase and contents were stolen from the office- of the Cafe de Paris Hotel, and were subsequently recovered from the Manchester Hotel, Feilding, where they had been left by Hood on 22nd July last. . -fob, fa&
