Henderson. —24th September last, from a motor-car in Candia Road, the property of CYRIL GORDON DONALDSON, two pressed-steel motor-car wheels, painted green with lighter green line around each rim, nickel-plated hubcaps with “ S ” thereon, fitted with a 600 by 16 U.S. Royal retread tire and a 625 by 16 Avon tire, Nos. 841868 P. H. and Y.A. 506514, and black tubes ; total value, £2l 10s. Tires identifiable.

Auckland. — 16th September last, from the dwelling of JOHN GEORGE BROOK, 18 Vincent Avenue, Remuera, a seven-valve all-wave mantel model Rolls radio, walnut finish with light facings, about 18 in. wide at base, oval top, dial about 6 in. square ; value, £SO. Identifiable. K&sixnr'a/f — -&/\*}/*+*> "" Auckland;— the Ist August last, from the dwelling of ELLEN WILSON, 8 Poto Street, Remuera, a ladies’ gold open-face watch with chased case ; a ladies’ gold open-face pocket watch with chased case ; a ladies’ gold wristlet watch (no wrist-band); a gentlemen’s silver open-face watch, No. 2 over 8576, made by Barroad and Lund, ' London ; an 18 ct. gold curb chain ; and a gold large old brooch, enamel star in centre, set with a pearl; total value, £lB. Identifiable.

Auckland.— l3th September last, from the dwelling of BERTHA McCORMICK, 120 Marsden Avenue, Balmoral, five gold old brooches, each set with stones similar to rubies and diamonds ; a ladies’ gold round wristlet watch, about size of a shilling, black hands and Arabic numerals (not: in working order), blue ribbon wrist-band; a gold pendant consisting of a gold crescent-shaped bar from which are suspended four or five drops each of which is mounted with garnets and pearls, gold fine chain about 20 in. long attached ; an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, originally claw-set with diamonds and rubies (probably five), but one diamond is now missing, half-hoop design ;■ an 18 ct. gold wedding ring ; and a gold large curb watch-chain with topaz suspended from centre, silver oval engraved sovereign attached to one end ; total value, £24. Auckland. Bth'or 9th ultimo, from a room at 55 Upper Queen Street, the property of PEARL LILLIAN DAVIS, a ladies’ gold small oblong 16-jewel wristlet-watch, Arabic numerals, crack in glass, numeral “3 ” indistinct; value, £4. Identifiable.

Auckland. 9th ultimo, from the dwelling of GEORGE EDWARD READ,"7 St. Vincent Avenue, Remuera, a ladies’ gold oblong, wristlet watch, mother-of-pearl dial, Arabic numerals, winder on side, “Dene from George, 3/5/1935” on back, double black cord wrist-band; and a ladies’ gold dress ring, set with large pearl in centre, green stone on each side, and three small diamond chips near each edge ; total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 11th or. 12th ultimo, from the wool store of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., The Strand, Parnell, the property of the DUNLOP RUBBER CO., seventeen 600 by 16 motor tires, Australian make, Dunlop or Barnett Glass brands; and eight 650 by 16 Olympic motor tires, Australian make; total value, £260. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —3 ultimo or ls(. t instant, from the shop of HENRY CLAUDE WEBBER, jeweller, 376 Queen Street: Gentlemen’s wristlet watches Two chromium-plated cushionshaped 15-jewel Datum, case No. 654 on each, light-coloured luminous dials, green Arabic numerals, black or brown leather wrist-straps ; two chromium-plated cushion-shaped jewel Invicta, about 1 in. in diameter, case No. 31632 on each,- white dials, yellow hands, numerals 3,0, and 12 are Roman with other numerals indicated by dots, leather wriststraps ; a Certina, No. 368775, about 1J in. in diameter, Arabic numerals, leather wrist-strap ; a stainless-steel round 15-jewel Roamer, case No. 1934, about 1} in. in diameter, luminous hands arid Arabic numerals, brown circle around outside of dial; a stainless-steel round Movado waterproof, about 1 in. in diameter, luminous dial, black circle around dial inside numerals, faint scratches on back case; and one of wftichjjio description is available ; totjfl value, £56 2s. far'

Auckland. — l6th ultimo, from a cloakroom at the Business College, Smith’s Buildings, Albert Street, the property of VALERIE INNES COMMIN, 24 Bassett Road, Remuera, a ladies’ double-breasted full-length light fawn camel-hair overcoat with half belt, wide reveres and collar, fully lined with lighter fawn material, two patch. pockets, square shoulders, inverted pleat in back; value,. £l7. Identifiable.

Auckland. lßth ultimo, from the dwelling of EDITH ELIZABETH MYRTLE McANDREW, 26 Lawrence Street, Herne Bay, a ladies’ gold,watch (recovered); a ladies’ rolledgold, square wristlet watch, winder missing; a ladies’ 18 ct. gold dress ring, set with an oval opal about 4 in. long in claw setting ; and a pair of 9 ct. gold cuff-links, dumb-bell shape on one end anti representation of map of Tasmania on other end ; total value, £2B ss. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by James Webber (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 10 in., native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion and hair, natural teeth, wearing a dark suit, who on 18th ultimo pledged the recovered watch with a pawnbroker in Hobson Street.

• Pukekohe. —24th or 25th ultimo, from a storeroom in the dehydration factory, the property of the NEW ZEALAND ; GOVERNMENT (Internal Marketing Division), a J h.p. three-phase A.C'. induction electric motor, No. 9016F440, General Electric Corporation make, painted black, 50 cycle, 1440r.p.m., 10 in. long, 6} in. in diameter; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —Between August, 1013, and 10th July last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a *303 calibre Short Magazine LeeEnfield service rifle. Nos. 2103 and 241885; and a bayonet, No. 2102; total value, £lB 2s.'9d. Identifiable. The rifle was on issue to the local Home Guard, but it cannot now be found.

Otorohanga. —Between the 6th July, 1943, and 20th June last, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a -300 calibre Springfield (U.S. Service rifle), 1903 model, butt No. 934, body No. 3007832 ; value, £l6 7s. 6d. Identifiable. The rifle was on issue to the .local Home Guard, but it cannot/now be found. Gisborne. —3lst August last or Ist September, from the dwelling of ERICA POULGRAIN, 134 Fox Street, a black Sheaffer’s fountain-pen with “ E. Poulgrain ” engraved on it; a navy-blue leather handbag, about 10 in. by 8 in., two compartments, knob fastener ; a diary covered with brown leather, “E. Poulgrain ”on it; a black comb ; and about £3 in money ; total value, £5 17s. 6d. Portion identifiable.

Palmerston North. Between the 11th and 17th ultimo, from the dwelling of LAVINIA MERLE RICE, 324 Rangitikei Street, an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with three diamonds of equal size in claw setting, crossover design ; value, £ls, Identifiable. -

Masterton.— lßth ultimo, from the dwelling of MARJORIE GLORY MARTIN, 8 Renall Street, a navy-blue leather handbag of purse shape, about 8 in. wide at bottom, chrome fastener, leather strap, containing a rent-book ; an old ration-book; 4s. 9d. in money; and a ladies’ gold octagon-shaped wristlet watch, No. 101284, gold-coloured dial with “ J. Winchester, Patea ” thereon, Arabic numerals, black ribbon wrist-band; total value, £6 10s. Identifiable except money.

Wellington.— llth or 12th August last, from the shop of QUILLARS LTD., photographic dealers, 42 Mercer Street, a Univex 8 mm. photographic projector, about 12 in. high, black finish, model No. 250 P.B, serial number believed P.E. 182, operates on 210-240 volts, fitted with 100 watt lamp; and a pair of black Pinto and Iverson prismatic binoculars, 8 x 25 magnifications, separate focusing, in brown leather case total value, £4l 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington.— Between the sth and 16th September last, the property of N. DAN GAR, care of the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd., a ladies’ oblong Tavannes wristlet watch, No. 1947, set with emeralds and diamonds with fleur-de-lis on ends, black cord wrist-band; value, £lO5. Riddell and Co., Edward Street, the property of WILLIAM LANCELOT SINGER, 129 Richmond Street, Petone, a gentlemen’s light-blue sports coat with dark-blue checks, grey lining, grey leather buttons, Hallenstein Bros., Ltd., on tag at neck; and a gentlemen’s stainless-steel round 15-jewel Buren waterproof wristlet watch with screwon back, luminous dial, Arabic numerals, “ W. L. Singer” on back ; total value, £l2 9s. Identifiable. '

Wharf (Wellington). —Between the 18th August last and 4th September, the property of the UNION STEAM SHIP CO., LTD., 100 lb. of Park Drive cigarette tobacco id a case marked “J. R.”; fifty thousand Capstan cigarettes in. packets of fifty, in a case marked “ T.H.G.”; 50 lb. of Bears Dark tobacco and 50 lb. of Havelock Dark tobacco in a case marked “ T.H.G.” ; total value, £374 7s. fid. Not identifiable. The three cases were part" of a consignment forwarded from W. I), and H. 0. ills, Lower Hutt, to T. H. Green and another, Christchurch on 18th August last, but on 4th September at Lyttelton it was discovered that they • had been short-landed.

Blenheim. Between the 24th July last and 4th August, the property of RITA ELLA'CLARKE, Ward Street, Springlands, a gold brooch of horse-shoe shape, set with two rows (thirty each) of pearls, one pearl different from others, pin at back, gold fine safety- attached, value £4O ; a gold tie-pin, about 4 in. long with ruby at top in gold scalloped circle with ornamental design on each scallop, in small red leather case ; total value, £56. Identifiable. The brooch and pin were stolen from a packing-case while complainant’s furniture and effects were being removed from Christchurch toßlenh,>im Waiuta. Between the 3rd and 16th August last, from the police-station, the property of THOMAS THORN, Blackwater, a -32 W.C.F. calibre Savage magazine rifle, No. 61473; value, £lO.
