APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Whangarei.— Samuel Akarama Davis and “ Simon,” unlawfully converting motor-car, have been arrested by the Auckland police. “ Simon ”is identical with Simon Ruwhiu, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 649, and Photographs, page 60, but his correct name is Epere Ruwhiu. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 465.)

Auckland.— Murdoch Duncan-Lourie, false pretences, has been arrested by the Auckland police. His correct name is Herbert John Morgan, who is referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 562. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 978, and 1940, page 355.)

Auckland. — Iroiana Koroi, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 11, died at Auckland on 17th instant.

Auckland.— Walter Watana, inquired for, has been interviewed by the Pukekohe police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 549.)

Auckland. James Doyle, alias Rossiter, suspected of theft, has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 394.)

Auckland.— Francis Robertson Picard, theft, has been arrested by the Matamata police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 413.)

Auckland.— Tom Wetin, alias Thomas or Kapa Wetin, absent from Army : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 552.)

Hamilton.— H. A. Clayton, false pretences: Harold Avery Clayton has been interviewed by the Gisborne police, and he admitted the offence. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 575.)

Hamilton.— Joseph Michael Moran, alias Joseph Patrick Hickey, default of fines and costs, has paid the amount to the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 609.)

Te Awamutu.— Lionel Nelson Clark, default of fine and costs : The fine and costs have been remitted, and no further action is to be taken. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 298.)

Palmerston North. — Edwin Francis Hurley, default of fines and costs, has paid the amount to the Palmerston North police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 595.)

Johnsonville. Jack Hounsell, alias Steve Jonson, escaping from mental hospital, has been discharged from the institution. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 601.)

Petone.— Harold Avery Clayton, false pretences, has been arrested by the Gisborne police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 595.)

Wellington.— Robert George Roil, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Lower Hutt police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 520.)

Nelson.— Ralph Henry Roberts, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Taranaki Street (Wellington) police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 610.)

Nelson.— Clifford Philip Edward Moore, failing to maintain, has been arrested by the Wairoa police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 626.)

Christchurch.— Adam Gordon, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 334, and Photographs, 1935, ' page 59, died at Auckland on 6th May last.

Christchurch.— Francis J. White, inquired for, was drowned at Waipori on 15th January last. (See Police Gazette, 1943, page 350.)

Christchurch.— George Garner, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 298.)

Waitati. James Martin, escaping from mental hospital, has been arrested by the Owaka police. (See Police Gazette, 1944, page 520.)
