Auckland.—On the 7th or Bth ultimo, the countinghouse of GEOFFREY NIGER NORRIE, Great North Road, Henderson, was broken into, the safe opened by means of explosives, and £6 in money stolen.

Auckland. Between the 21st and 24th April last, from a section at the corner of Mount Smart Road and Queen Street, Onehunga, the property of THOMAS HENRY WILLIAMS, 16 Telford Avenue, Balmoral, a motor car trailer, painted grey, fitted with two black Austin wire wheels (no hub caps) and well-worn low-pressure tires, registrationplate No. R. 5,601, 1943-44 license No. R. 10910 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Mount Eden South.—2oth April last, from the dwelling of RUTH COLORSO VON STURMER, 21 Horooka Avenue, a ladies’ gold wristlet watch with oblong dial, black Arabic numsrals except “12” which are white, black wrist-band with gold clip ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Kingsland.—Between the 3rd and 6th May last, from a washhouse at 7 Third Avenue, the property of ANNIE ESMA TOWERS, a ladies’ gold (probably 9 ct.) dress ring, set with an amethyst about size of a threepenny piece in claw setting ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Howick. —Between the 14th and 20th May last, from a dwelling on a farm at Maraetai, the property of HERBERT HENRY POLLARD, 394 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, two white blankets; three sheets; a white bolster; a single kapok mattress ; a blue suit with “A. Pollard, tailor ”on inside coat; a grey shirt, size 5 ; two blue shirts, size 5 ; a set of blue and white pyjamas; six cups and saucers; a teapot; a bread-board; some tea towels; some tablecloths ; twelve tins of Highlander condensed milk; an electric iron ; and a pair of tan working boots, size 9 ; total value, £4O. Te Aroha. —3rd or 4th March last, from the milking-shed on the farm of WALTER GILBERT CANDY, Morgantown, » five-valve table model Ultimate radio, No. 516, serial No. 13839 on brass plate ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Huntly.— 4th or sth ultimo, from the screen-house at Rotowaro, the property of the RENOWN COLLIERIES, LTD., a Hercules engineer’s vise with 6 in. jaws, has been burnt and a new spring which was made at the mine fitted to winding gear; and a wall drill, about 36 in. long, boringtable attached at bottom and driving gear at top, fly-wheel on left side, winding-handle on right side, spindle bent; total value, £l7 18s. Identifiable.

Napier. —2lst February last, from the wool-store of Dalgety and Co., Port Ahuriri, the property of RICHARD GILLETT COLSTON MELHUISH, 6 Burns Road, a gentlemen’s chromium-plated large round Pierce wristlet watch, No. 33/1085, Arabic numerals, brown luminous dial, “ Stainless Steel ”on back, leather wrist-strap; value, £7 10s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 2oth May last, from the dwelling of Leonard Robertson, 20 Amesbury Street, the property of MABEL OLIVE LONG, a brown imitation leather shoppingbag, about 15 in. by 10 in., with zip-fastener, containing a pair of ladies’ fawn suede gloves of English make ; a small leather case containing three £5 notes, about three £1 notes, and a 10s. note ; a small purse containing some silver and a Yale key ; a Palmerston North Post-office Savings-bank book, No. 109815 ; and a ration-book (each book in complainant’s name); total value, about £2l. Identifiable except money. A Man, of whom no description is available, was seen leaving complainant’s room through the window, and later a three-cell torch was found on the lawn. A fingerimpression which was found on the torch has been preserved.

Wellington. —3oth April last or Ist May, from the garage of EDGAR ALEXANDER BOGGETT, 175 Karcpa Street, Brooklyn, a four-valve H.M.V. portable radio with “ M.T.” round condenser, covered with imitation leather which has been repaired on left side ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Wellington. 9th May last, from the garage of ROBERT CHRISTOPHER COOPER BURTON, 48 Grafton Road, Roseneath, a Vauxhall motor-car wheel, fitted with a 525 by 16 All-weather Supertwist Goodyear tire, serial No. 81P89E44, and tube ; a set of Vauxhall motor-car tools in black leatherette case ; a set of Morris motor-car tools in brown canvas case ; a red force-feed oil pump ; six fuses ; a box of Schrader tire valves ; a set of wrenches in black case ; and two Sphinx spark plugs ; total value, £l6 14s. Tire identifiable.

Wellington. 27th May last, from a coat in the workroom of the Eclipse Tailoring Co., 68 Willis Street, the property of CHARLES WILLIAM HAMMER, about £65 in money, made up of five £5 and the remainder in £1 notes. The offence may have been committed by James Doyle, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 394, and Photographs, 1931, page 37, whose photograph has been identified as being very like a man who was in the workroom on above date inquiring about some material for a suit and was near where the coat was hanging. .

Wellington. Between the 24th and 26th instant, the armoury at the Wellington College was broken into and the following, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), stolen: Three -303 calibre No. 1 Mk. 11l Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifles, Nos. Kaimai” in white paint near two corners • total value, £6O. Identifiable.
