Auckland. — 2nd ultimo, from a room in the Carlton Boardinghouse, Hobson Street, the property of EDMOND RANDALL KING, a navy-blue suit with pin stripes, size 3, may have “ JafFe ” on tag at neck ; a pair of black serge trousers, size 3, repaired on inside of left leg and on right hip; a faded black Italian cloth shirt, size 3; and a white cotton sleeveless singlet, size 3 ; total value, £ls 15s. Identifiable. This offence may have been committed by Frank Hasscti, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., slight build, medium complexion, dark hair; wearing a brown suit and felt hat; well spoken, smart appearance. He shared a room with complainant, but on above date he disappeared after which it was discovered that the property described had been stolen.

Waterhouse ” in black letters on inside lid a Rolls razor in silver-coloured case; a brown leather wallet with “ B. M. Levin. 24th or 25th February last, from a shed at the R.N.Z.A.F. Station, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Air Department), three tractor lamps, painted air-force-blue, front of each about 6 in. in diameter, “No. 924210/19 ” and “ Opaque Glass ” on lenses which are of prism type and slightly convex ; and six gallons of petrol; total value, £8 7s. 9d. Lamps identifiable.

Marine Corps, a -38 calibre six-chambered Colt revolver (loaded), black bakelite grip, contained in light tan leather holster with brass button for flap ; value, £l2 3s. 4d. Identifiable.

Wellington. l3th November last, from a bar in the City Hotel, the property of WILLIAM MITCHELL, 101 Ghuznee Street, a gentlemen’s navy-blue overcoat of Raglan style, fit man of 5 ft. 7 in., half-lined with black material, button holes repaired, may have “W. Mitchell underneath lining at back; value, £5. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by a man known as “ Hoppy,” age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 6 in., dark-brown hair going bald ; wearing a grey overcoat and light hat; quietly spoken. He held the coat while complainant went to the lavatory, but when the latter returned he had disappeared. He may be identical with John Cape!
