MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

Memorandum.]

Exhibits for Chemical Examination.

The attention of all members of the Force is directed to my memorandum of 15th January, 1942 (Police Gazette, 1942, page 93) relating to exhibits for examination by Government Analysts. In every case coming under the notice of the Police where it is necessary to procure and forward such exhibits the medical officer concerned should be informed of the instructions as contained in the memorandum mentioned herein.

As stated in the memorandum, certain glass bottles and jars manufactured in the Dominion give off minute quantities of arsenic when new. Such containers should be washed carefully with hot acid (hydrochloric) water before use.

D. J. Cummings, Commissioner of Police Wellington, 21st July, 1943. (P. 43/799.)

2—P.G.

E. V. Paul, Government Printer, Wellington.
