Auckland. Between the 30th April last and 3rd ultimo, from command post, 69th A.A. Battery, Chamberlain Park, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a pair of prismatic binoculars with black fabric casing and black rims, Mk. 11, No. 96406, fine leather strap attached ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 9th or 10th instant, from the projectionroom in the Prince Edward Theatre, the property of JOHN FULLER AND SONS, LTD., a Taylor-Hobson Maximum projection lens, serial No. 20884, 5£ in. focal length, 2 in. in diameter, £ in. lens at each end, “ Made in England, Patent No. 180949 ”on it; a cast barrel-holder for lens, about 3 in. square, painted black, focusing-knob on one side ; and a cast curved arm for attaching barrel-holder to machine, about 3 in. long, £ in. wide, and £ in. thick, painted black, | in. hole in one end and 1 £ in. hole in other end ; total value, £42 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —llth instant, from the bedroom of EILEEN MARY RIDER, manageress, Wellesley House, Wellesley Street, a gentlemen’s nickel round wristlet watch, white dial, nickel expanding bracelet attached; a chamois leather purse, about 3 in. by 14 in., Maori scene painted on one side; and about £4 7s. 6d. in money ; total value, £7 10s. Watch and purse identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Albert Leonard Simmons, referred to in Police Gazette, 1943, page 451, and Photographs, 1941, page 57 wearing a navy-blue suit and a grey tweed overcoat. At about 6.15 p.m. on above date, the complainant disturbed him while trying to open her safe in her bedroom. She ordered him out, but after he had gone she missed the property described above. Masterton. —23rd April last, from a garage at No. 9 The Terrace, Lansdowne, the property of ERIC SAMUEL SANSON, Te Ore Ore, a -22 calibre Fabrique Nationale (F.N.) Arms Co., Belgium, repeating rifle, No. 27267 ; value, £5. Identifiable. . y-.J>

Petone. — Between the 2nd February last and sth ultimo, from a military store in Gracefield Road, Moera, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), six new ten-ply motor-truck tires, size 32 by 6, Dayton Thorobred or Mansfield Transport makes ; value, £6O. Not identifiable.

Wharf (Wellington). —Between 17th February last and 30th April, from a shod on Aotea Quay Wharf, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a heavy pocket watch with nickel case, Arabic numerals, arrow and serial No. 193830 on back of case ; value, £2 ss. 6d. Identifiable.

Westport. —9th ultimo, from a passage in the Commercial Hotel, the property of LILY ROXANE WATSON, care of Gilmers Hotel, Groymouth, a brown leather suit-case, 30 in. by 20 in. by 12 in., with two leather straps, containing a black coney fur coat of swagger style with brown silk lining, two inside pockets, value £3O ; a brown taffeta raincoat of silk appearance, English make ; a black frock with white collar and belt ; a black frock with red collar and red and white buttons down front, belt has white heart-shaped buckle with red arrow-fastener; a black frock, coatee trimmed with pink and green flowers; a pale-green frock with coffeecoloured lace collar and patch pockets ; a striped frock of mustard shade with belt and buckle of same material ; a grey linen frock, pockets trimmed with red ; a linen frock of mustard shade, pockets trimmed with white ; a two-piece costume of green worsted ; about 5 yd. of black dress material with grey floral pattern ; and some sets of silk underwear, one set pink, one green, and the other lemon coloured ; total value, £72 10s. Leeston. —21st or 22nd ultimo, from tho workshop of JOHN BRYCE, coachbuilder, a power-driven bench model Driver drilling-machine, made by Walker and Turner Co., America, model D. 925, Driver electric-motor attached ; and a 10 in. Dunedin.— 6th April last, from the dwelling of JAMES McKENZIE, 25 Lonsdale Street, Mornington, a dark-grey mottled Onoto fountain-pen with gold nib and gold-coloured pocket clip; six keys on ring ; a ladies’ gold wristlet watch, round dial with “ Lloyd ” on it, Arabic numerals, may have “ G.1.C.” on back case, gold expanding wrist-band which is broken near one end ; and an oval pewter brooch with blue stone in centre ; total value, £lO 15s. Identifiable.

Dunedin. —Between the 9th and 19th April last, the dwelling of FRANK SHERRIFF, 117 Eglinton Road, Mornington, was broken into and the following stolen : A quantity of jewellery (recovered), value £3B 11s. 6d. ; a silver oval locket, about 1J in. by 1 in., engraved on each side; an ivory brooch in shape of daisy with pink edge, about f in. in diameter, pin missing ; and a gentlemen’s silver or chromiun oblong Swiss wristlet watch, Eros, Buren, or Rival make, wide brown leather strap; total value, £5 Bs. 6d. Identifiable. On the 10th ultimo the recovered jewellery was found in a suit-case in tho Mornington football grounds.
