Kaeo. —9th or 10th April last, from the slaughterhouse of ALBERT WILLIAM KENNEY, butcher, a -22 calibre single-shot Bayard rifle, No. 80156 ; value, £2 12s. 6d. Identifiable. , (J (Os U-%.

Auckland. —Between 10-50 p.m. and 11.50 p.m. on 21st April last, the dwelling of SUM PAK CHEONG, 38a Pitt Street, was broken into and the following stolen : A suitcase containing clothing (recovered); value £5 ; a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold Buren pockot watch, open face, fifteen jewels, white dial; a silver wrist-band for a wristlet watch; £135 in £lO, £5, £l, and 10s. notes ; one hundred and twelve dollars in ten, five, and one dollar bills ; four half-sovereigns ; and two sovereigns; total value, £lB5 11s. 4d. Watch only identifiable. The offence may have been committed by a Man, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., probably a Maori, medium build; wearing dark clothes (no hat). He was accompanied by a man of similar description, and a Woman, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 5 in., probably a Maori, stout build; wearing a grey frock. At 11.30 p.m. on above date they were seen in tho locality in possession of the stolen suit- which they searched and abandoned.

Gisborne. 26th or 27th February last, from an aircraft at Gisborne or between Gisborne and Nelson, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Air Department), a. pair of black metal night binoculars, “ Made by H. Hughes and Sons, London ” on bar between eyepieces, “ A.M.” and a crown in gilt on left side, “ 6e/338 ” in gilt on right side, “2017 ” in white paint on base of left barrel, brown leather strap attached ; value, £8 14s. 6d. Identifiable.

Bulls. Between the 11th and 24th April last, from a hangar at the R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Ohakea, tho property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Air Department), two black aircraft compasses of P.B type, 4£ in. in diameter, each contained in blue-grey round metal case, black dial with two white lines across it, degrees marked in white and “ N ” in red, “ A.M.” on them, reference No. 6A726 ; total value, £l7. Identifiable.

Lower —Between the 4th and 18th February last, from the laundry of the United States of America Naval Hospital, Silverstream, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Public Works Department), a fifty cycle single-phase l/12th h.p. electric motor, type No. F.L. 25315, •1350 revolutions per minute, A.C. current, 115/230 volts, fitted with a small fan with four blades ; value, £lO.
