APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Kawakawa.—Jonah or Joseph Wiki, default of fine and costs, has paid the amount to the Taumarunui police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, p. 815.)

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). — Huygens, deserting ship, has been arrested by the Hamilton police. (See Police Gazette, 1941, page 923.)

Auckland. — Two Men (names unknown), attempted robbery of money, the property of the New Zealand Government (Railways Department): The offenders have been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 831.)

Auckland. — Clifford Douglas Keane, alias Leslie Howard Keane, alias Thomas Jackson Burke, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1942, page 836): On the 6th instant the sentence of “ two years (cumulative) ” for escaping from custody was reduced by the Court of Appeal to “ six months (cumulative).” All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.

Auckland. — Edwin William Lethlean, absent from Army Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 775.)

Auckland. — David Barry, failing to report for military service, has been arrested by the Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 815.)

Rotorua. — Te Moni, default of maintenance, has paid the arrears to the Rotorua police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 816.)

Wellington. Reginald Thomas Clarke, failing to report for military service, has been arrested by the Wellington police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 590.)

Wellington. — Donald Glasgow Bicknell, escaping from mental hospital, has been returned to the institution. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 816.) v

Wellington. Harold James Smith, absent from Army, has been arrested by the military authorities. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 820.)

Wellington. — Henry Hedley Briant Maunder, absent from Army, has been arrested by the Otaki police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 820.)

Wellington. — Edward Johnston, absent from Army, has been arrested by the Pongaroa police. He is identical with a man of the same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 14. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 820.)
