Auckland. —Unclaimed property found at Manurewa: The two green-grey rugs, the oilskin coat with cape, the canvas sail jib, the canvas cover, and the tarpaulin have been claimed by the owner, Horace Lovell Massey, whose dwelling is referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 873, as having been broken into. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 175.)

Auckland. — George Cook, breach of probation, has been arrested by the Freeman’s Bay police. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 426.)

Auckland. — Peter Davey, suspected of stealing LieutenantColonel Alexander Charles Tancock’s watch, &c. : Peter Cornford Lovell-Smith, a mental defective, has admitted this offence, but the stolen property has not been recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1942, page 527.)

Auckland. — P. Ryan, false pretences, has been arrested by the New Plymouth police. He is identical with William George Thomas, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 30. (See Police Gazette, 1939, page 349.)

Auckland. — Elizabeth Carswell, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 681, and Photographs, 1923, page 69, was killed in a motor accident at Auckland on the 3rd instant.

Taihape. —Bernie William McKenzie, convicted (see Police Gazette, 1942, page 673) : At a rehearing on the 3rd instant the sentence of one month’s imprisonment was varied to a fine of £lO. All copies of the Police Gazette are to be amended accordingly.
