Auckland. —29th January last, from the dwelling of KATHLEEN MARY RESETAR, 37 Randolph Street, a six-valve mantel model all-wave Skyscraper radio, serial No. 33197, purchased in 1937 ; and a small hand Unity sowing-machine, cabinet model, enamelled black with goldcoloured lines, serial No. 3293498 ; total value, £33. Identifiable.
Auckland.— February last, from clothing in the office of FRANCIS DONOVAN COLE, 72 Nelson Street, a gentlemen’s black leather wallet of folding type with red and black silk lining, “ Blamford ’’ and “ Edinburgh, 1924 ” in gold-coloured letters on inside ; £24 in money ; a chequebook on the Bank of New Zealand, Queen Street, containing forms, Nos. U. 772801-824; and a cheque for £25 4s. 2d., No. A. 172, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand in favour of Boyd Boxes, Ltd., and signed “ L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd.” ; total value, £49 15s. 6d. Identifiable except money.
Auckland. — Between the 24th February last and 14th March, from the dwelling of LOUISA GRACE BACH, 211 Tamaki Drive, Kohimarama, a brown skunk fur of two skins, one of which is slightly lighter in colour than the other, two tails on each side, three tails and two claws at each end, one claw crushed, 60 in. long and 12 in. wide, brown art-silk lining, fastens with cords at ends ; value, £l4 14s. Identifiable.
Auckland. sth March last, from clothing in the premises of Graham and Lodder, 3-7 Wakefield Street, the property of WILLIAM JOHN LODDER, manager, a driver’s license and warrant of fitness (recovered); eleven £1 notes; a black leather folding wallet, about 6 in. by 4 in. ; a chequebook on the Commercial Bank of Australia, Queen Street, Nos. E. 123009-024; and a certificate of enrolment in complainant’s name ; total value, £l2 2s. Bd. Identifiable except money. The driver’s license and warrant of fitness were found in Lome Street on the sth March last.
Auckland.— On the 7th or Bth March last, the dwelling of ERNEST FREDERICK WATKINS, 1063 Dominion Road, Mount Roskill, was broken into and the following stolen : A ladies’ 9 ct. gold square Rolex wristlet watch, black hands and Arabic numerals, cloth wrist-band with gold-coloured thread through it; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold -wristlet watch, black hands and Arabic numerals, black ribbon wrist-band with gold catch ; a pair of gentlemen’s Oxford tan shoes, size 7, No. 1685 on inside ; a pair of flesh-coloured Prestige silk stockings, size 10 in.; a pair of Prestige silk stockings of peach-bloom shade, size 10 in.; a dark-brown iron oval money-box, 3 in. high, representation of a kiwi on one side,, containing about ss. in coppers; and about £2 ss. in silver and coppers ; total value, £2l 6s. 3d. Auckland. lßth or 19th March last, from the surgery of Dr. MORRIS AXFORD, 92 Symonds Street, an Underwood typewriter, serial No. 65378, dark-green case; value, £l4. Identifiable.
Auckland.— On the 26th or 27th March last, the shop of R. AND W. HELLABY, LTD., butchers, corner of Nelson and Victoria Streets, was broken into, the safe opened by means of explosives, and the following stolen : A black tin box, about 9 in. by 6 in. by 4 in., containing £SB 10s. 6d. in money, made up of £1 and 10s. notes, silver and coppers; and a receipt for £ll 15s. 6d. issued to complainant firm on 25th March, 1942, by Dunningham and Co. Receipt only identifiable.
Auckland. March last, the property of BEATRICE HANNAH DE CLIFTON, Hillcrest Road, Papatoetoe, a ladies’ brown crocodile-skin purse, 12 in. long, containing a gentlemen’s gold open-face pocket watch, slight dent in back case, “ To Bandmaster de Clifton ” and a date engraved on back; a gold fine chain, about 12 in. long ; an Auckland Post-office Savings-bank book, No. 425848, in complainant’s name ; and £1 15s. in money ; total value, £l2 6s. Identifiable except money. Complainant may have left the purse in the train at Papatoetoe.
Auckland. —27th March last, from a platform on the railway-station, the property of GEORGE PETER MARSHDALE, 44 Grey Avenue, a brown leather brief-bag, 22 in. by 12 in. by 12 in., clip at each end, lock in centre, “ G.P.M.” in gold-coloured letters on it, leather label attached with “ P. Marshdale, Auckland ” thereon, containing a clericalgrey suit, fit man 5 ft. 8 in., and of good build, purchased from Hallenstein Bros.; two pairs of gentlemen’s shoes, size 8, one pair black and the other brown; and two Brylcreem jars containing £685 in money,' mostly £5 notes ; total value, £699. Bag only identifiable.
Auckland. — On the Bth or 9th ultimo, the Point Chevalier Post-office, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Post and Telegraph Department), was broken into, an attempt made to open the safe by means of explosives, and the following stolen : Twenty-two pairs of silk stockings of various makes and colours, sizes 8|- in. and 9£ in., which were in parcels awaiting delivery; total value, £5 19s. lid. Not identifiable.
Otahuhu.— Between November last and Ist March, from the dwelling of HILMA MARTIN McANNALLEY, Mason Avenue, a gentlemen’s nickel open-face pocket watch, “ Laidlaw Leeds ”on dial; a gentlemen’s gold curb watchchain, similar to illustration No. 15 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2 ; a pendant of specimen gold, mounted with gold band, “ W.M.” on it; and six stainless steel bread and butter knives with white handles, total value, £ls 15s. Tauco planing-machine with Aceg J h.p. motor, No. 171601; and a | h.p. single-phase repulsion-induction Driver electric motor, No. 48/2, ; total value, £93. Identifiable.
Moera. —2nd or 3rd March last, from an office of the N.Z.R,. Workshops, Woburn, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Railways Department), a silver Swiss stop watch, No. 56675, “ Teagle, Smith, and Co., Wellington,” on dial; value, £5. Identifiable.
Wellington.— 24th February last, from a motor-van outside the Wellington Technical College, the property of HIS MASTER’S VOICE RETAILERS, 91 Cuba Street, a six-valve all-wave mantel model His Master’s Voice radio, green dial, walnut-coloured cW“, model 651, No, 102931 ; value, £2l. Wellington. or 28th March last, from a room in the Roxy Boardinghouse, Manners Street, the property of WILLIAM TOROA, a gentlemen’s double-breasted fawn check camel-hair overcoat, fit man 5 ft. 7| in., “ E. C. Browne and Co., Clothiers, Willis Street, Wellington,” on tag, stain on right side near belt; value, £7 15s. Identifiable. The offence may have been committed by Herbert James Truesdale, referred to in Police Gazette, 1942, page 305, and Photographs, 1938, page 6. He visited the boardinghouse about the time the offence was committed, -and has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted.

Wellington. 2nd ultimo, from a motor-car in Pirie Street, the property of DUNCAN J OHNSON MOUAT, 48 Kent Terrace an attache-case; and a gentlemen’s grey suit of heavy quality, “ Galvin, tailor, Fowld’s Building, Manners Street, Wellington,” on tag ; value, £7. Suit identifiable.
Christchurch. —28th February last, from the person of BARBARA CROSBY, 24 Clissold Street, Merivale, a handbag (recovered), containing a ladies’ 18 ct. gold round watch, chased case with “ J.S.” on back, gold-coloured round dial, black Roman numerals; a 4 ft. gold muff-chain ; a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold English hunting watch, white dial, black numerals ; and a gold curb chain ; total value, £ls. Identifiable. While complainant was walking along Merivale Lane her handbag was snatched from her by a person of whom no description is available.
