Auckland. 22nd ultimo, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), John Bingham Russell, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 596, and Photographs, 1935, page 35. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer.

Auckland. 2lst February last, for theft of £6O in money, the property of Dora Columba Kearns, Robert Emett Burrowes, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 301, and Photographs, page 32. Accused induced complainant to purchase an option interest in a patent petrol-adapter described as the “ Milner Petrol-Diesel Rectifier Distributor ” for the sum referred to. She obtained a receipt from him on behalf of a fictitious firm, and also a letter signed by accused confirming the sale. He left this Dominion for Australia on the 7th April last. Dannevirke. 9th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for six months in default of paying £54 arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Doris Elaine McNeilage, and two children, High Street, Alexander McNeilage, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., motor engineer and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair turning grey, hazel eyes, dimple in chin, one gold-filled upper tooth, scar on left groin, varicose veins in left leg; usually dressed in a navy-blue or brown suit; smart appearance. Wellington.— Bth instant, that he may be located and interviewed regarding his having failed to enrol in the First Division of the General Reserve, Jack Anderson, age twentyfive, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and fencer, native of Scotland, medium build, olive complexion, dark hair ; usually wears a brown overcoat and brown felt hat.

Wellington. 4th ultimo, on warrant for failing to report for service with the armed forces when notified so to do, Harold Joseph Blatchford, ago thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., gasworks employee and seaman, native of England, medium build, ruddy complexion, auburn hair, brown eyes ; usually dressed in dark suit, black shoes, and brown felt hat. Greymouth. —29th January, 1939, on warrant for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £l2 45., the property of J. Martyn and Co., cycle - dealers, Oamaru, Joseph Leonard Hastie, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 420, and Photographs, 1937, page 21. On the 7th January, 1939, accused obtained the bicycle from complainant firm under a hire-purchase agreement, and on the 29th January, 1939, he sold it to Owen Johnston, Inangahua Junction for £3 10s.

Christchurch. 4th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for three months in default of paying £59 9s. 6d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Cornelius Michael Stowers-Crowley, ago forty-nine, height 5 ft. 7£ in., salesman and engineer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair turning grey, blue eyes, scar on left cheek, powder-marks on forehead. Christchurch. —lsth ultimo, on warrant to apprehend for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife and child, Godfrey Keith Weir, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 474. Arrears to 30th June last, £35.

Christchurch. —3rd instant, for bigamy, James Joseph McNamara, alias Francis James McNamara, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 7 in., motor-driver, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair. On the 27th December, 1939, then being married, accused went through a form of marriage at the Roman Catholic Cathedral, Christchurch, with Monica Eleanor Hand, shop-assistant, Hands Road, Helensville. He is now on service overseas with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, but should he return to this Dominion the file is to be obtained from the Superintendent of Police, Christchurch, before he is interviewed.
