On the above date Ailsa Maud Knight, age eleven, Ngaruawahia, in company with another girl, age nine, was feeding swans at the Hamilton Lake when they were accosted by accused who enticed them to accompany him for a distance of about two miles on the pretext that he knew where there were swans’ nests. He instructed the younger girl to wait near a tree and he then took complainant into some scrub where he committed the offence. He was seen speaking to a young man named -Jask, height about 5 ft. 3 in., medium build; wearing blue trousers, warrant.
