Whangarei. — llth June last, on warrant for unlawfully converting to his own use a Bedford motor-truck (recovered), value, £250, the property of Runciman and Boyd, Ltd., carriers, Cameron Street, Horace Basil Wiggins, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 407, and Photographs, 1931, page 42. On the above date accused was employed by complainant firm, and he unlawfully removed the truck from the garage and conveyed a party to a dance at Parua Bay HaIL 2/%/y/.

Auckland. —23rd July last, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Crimes Amendment Act, 1910), Rangi Williams, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 471, and Photographs, 1937, page 52. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer.

Auckland. 3rd ultimo, on warrant to apprehend 'for failing to maintain his wife, Jessie Mary Roberts, and child, 16 Mariri Road, Onehunga, Bernard Ro&erts, age forty-nine, height 6 ft. 3 in., motor mechanic, native of New Zealand, strong build, swarthy complexion, dark hair turning grey, blue eyes, front upper teeth missing, slight scar on right side of face near nose, has small moustache; usually well dressed in a navy-blue suit and hard felt hat. When arrested he may be brought before the nearest Court presided over by a Magistrate. He may be identical with a man of the same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 566,

Mount Eden South.— ultimo, that he may be located and interviewed regarding his having failed to report for service with the armed forces when notified so to do, Victor Wilbur Robinson, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and freezing worker, native of New Zealand, medium build, olive complexion, brown hair and eyes; dressed in a bluegrey suit; quick erect gait; may be suffering from skin rash.

Hamilton. 2Bth ultimo, for rape, Jim Ross (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-two, height about 6 ft., medium build, fresh ruddy complexion, fair hair (bald patch on back of head near crown), light-grey eyes, misshapen dirty teeth, large mouth, well spoken; wearing a grey-blue sports coat, bright-blue trousers, red pullover with zipfastener and navy-blue sweater or shirt (no hat). On the above date Ailsa Maud Knight, age eleven, Ngaruawahia, in company with another girl, age nine, was feeding swans at the Hamilton Lake when they were accosted by accused who enticed them to accompany him for a distance of about two miles on the pretext that he knew where there were swans’ nests. He instructed the younger girl to wait near a tree and he then took complainant into some scrub where he committed the offence. He was seen speaking to a young man named -Jask, height about 5 ft. 3 in., medium build; wearing blue trousers, warrant.

Hamilton.— 29th ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for ten days and fifteen days in default of paying £lO arrears on maintenance orders for the support of his wife, Adeline Mabel Tidd, and children, care of P.W.D. Wanganui. — l3th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a cheque for £6 2s. and £1 cash, the property of Sarah Lucina Bertha Hunt, boardinghouse proprietress, Waitotara, Thomas Georg® Ward, referred to in Police Gazette, 1941, page 553, and Photographs, 1940, page 14. Accused boarded with complainant, and on the above-mentioned date the latter gave him a letter containing the cheque and money referred to, which he was to deliver to the Maypole Stores, Wanganui, but he cashed the cheque the same day at the Red Lion Inn, Wanganui. £//pu r ///
