MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION.

Circular No. 3/41.] Weekly Day off at One-man Stations. Instances have come under my notice where the Officer in Charge of the District and the Sergeant in Charge of the Subdistrict were unaware of the fact that on a particular day a constable at a one-man station was having his weekly day off duty. This should never .happen, and in no instance must the constable at a one-man station be permitted to decide each week as to his weekly day off and to take it without first notifying and obtaining the approval of the Officer in Charge of the District. In all cases the Sergeant in Charge of a Subdistrict should know the day on which members of the Force at one-man stations in the Sub-district are taking their weekly day off. D. J. Cummings, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 9th June, 1941. (P. 41/599.)

Appointment as Detective. No. 3384. Constable Urquhart, George Colin. Ist May, 1941.

Name of Police-station changed. Rolleston (Christchurch District) to Burnham
