Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —Bth instant, from a waiting- in Quay Street, the property of GORDON JOHN DOAR, Papakura Military Camp, a large banjomandolin, 13 in. bowl, rosewood neck with extra piece of iron on it near tuning keys, aluminium wedge between neck and bowl; value, £7. Identifiable.

Papakura.— Between the 12th and 15th. December last, from a room in Papakura Military Camp, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Army Department), a -303 calibre Short Magazine Lee Enfield service rifle, No. 24768, manufacturer’s No. 1732 value, £l4 10s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. On the 4th instant, the shop of LESLIE RAYMOND CASEY, 2 Pahiatua Street, was broken into and the following stolen: A gentlemen’s silver Rolex wristlet watch, glass broken, second-hand missing; value, £5 ; a few shillings in money ; some mixed stamps; and a large quantity of cigarettes and tobacco of various brands; one hundred packets of double Zig-zag cigarette papers ; and eighteen packets of wax matches ; total value, £36 19s. Watch identifiable.

Wellington. During the night of 22nd-23rd December last, from Abel Smith Street, the property of RAYMOND LIONEL MURRAY, 54 Hill Street, a 1934 model Morris Minor saloon motor-car, green body with black mudguards, wire wheels, India tires on rear wheels, Dunlop tires on front wheels, square radiator, piece of red rag tied over tail-light, chassis No. 393576, engine No. 39568 a, registration No. 90,712 value, £9O. Identifiable.

Wellington.— Between the 17th and 24th November last, from a motor-car outside the dwelling of LESLIE JAMES STILL, 60 Mandalay Terrace, Khandallah, a five-valve Delco motor-car radio, dark-brown, serial No. 639571, model 663 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Wellington. — and 23rd December last, from a motor-car which was unlawfully removed from 30 Upland Crescent and later recovered, the property of DAVID VICTOR TERRISS, a seven-valve Philco radio, serial No. 891799, model 20 E., brown wood, square bottom, oval top; value, £5. Identifiable.

Wellington. —7th or Bth ultimo, from a motor-car, the property of JOHN GUEST, 34 Duppa Street, Island Bay, a six-valve Sonomatic motor-car radio, serial No. F. 4267; value, £ls. Identifiable. Complainant’s motor-car was unlawfully removed from outside his dwelling and when it was recovered the radio had been stolen.

Wellington. —On the 21st December last, the dwelling of NORMAN VICTOR BARDSLEY, 80 Darlington Road, Miramar, was broken into and the following stolen: Two light-blue vases with gold-coloured leaves and flower design on sides, 12 in. high, 4 in. square tops; a gentlemen’s gold signet ring, square top, “ N.V.8.” on it; a ladies’ gold ring, originally set with five diamonds in platinum setting, but one end diamond is now missing ; a ladies’ gold ring, originally set with four diamonds in platinum setting, but one end diamond is now missing; a gentlemen’s imitation silver 15-jewel Rolex wristlet watch, luminous dial, imitation silver expanding wrist band ; and a ladies’ gold octagonshaped wristlet watch, “ To Net from Norm 18/12/27 ” on back case ; total value, about £27. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), about middle age, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, ruddy complexion, dark hair; wearing an old leather overcoat, dark-blue trousers (no hat), and was carrying a small attache-case similar to one which was later discovered to have been stolen from the house. He was seen to enter the dwelling and leave again about twenty minutes later.. _ a,/ .

Christchurch. 23rd or 24th January last, from a showcase in the PUBLIC MUSEUM, a 9 mm. calibre Luger automatic pistol, No. 4632 ; a -32 calibre Dreyse automatic pistol, No. 144375 ; three rounds of ammunition for Luger pistol; and a leather case for the other pistol; total value, about £5. Identifiable. .
