Auckland.— 2sth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £87,165. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his two children, Joseph Hilary Mason, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 221, and Photographs, 1930, page 64. He may be released on payment of £2O.
Auckland. 3oth ultimo, that he may be located and interviewed regarding his ability to pay £4 19s. to the Department, of Health, Wellington, for treatment, of his wife in St. Helens Hospital in November, 1938, John Benjamin Roberts, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., driver and storeman, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, large nose. Stratford. 2oth August last, on warrant for theft of one hundred and seventy-six rounds of -303 calibre ammunition, value, Bs. (recovered), the property of the New Zealand Government (Army Department), Frederick John William Clark, referred to in Police Gazette, 1938, page 113, and Photographs, 1934, page 66. He has a scar above his right knee, and his right' eye has been recently injured; usually dressed in light sports clothes; fond of liquor and dancing ; slovenly gait.
Wanganui. 20th and 26th ultimo, for theft of £2 16s. in money, the property of the Wanganui East Swimming Club, D. McLeod, age about forty-five,, height about 5 ft. 6 in., cook and labourer, medium build, fair fresh complexion, brown hair, no upper teeth ; dressed in brown gabardine trousers and brown coat. Accused, who was employed as caretaker at the Wanganui East Baths, disappeared with £2 16s. which he had collected for the sale of tickets. When located he is to be interviewed regarding the offence. The photograph of Donald McLeod, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 807, and Photographs, 1929, page 71, has been identified as that of accused. No warrant. CtWt&o&ct /
Wellington. —2lst ultimo, on warrant for a breach of his probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Albert Jackson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1939, page 538, and Photographs, page 60. He has failed to report to a Probation Officer.
Christchurch.— loth August last, on warrant for bigamy, William Alec George Pearsall, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 6 in., printer, native of England, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, smart appearance, and, sometimes wears glasses. On the 26th December, 1938, at the Church of St. Andrew, Cambridge, New Zealand, he married Mary Linda White, and being on the 10th August, 1940, then married, he went through a form of marriage with Hazel Margaret Wright at the Methodist Church, Durham Street, Christchurch. He is overseas with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, attached to the 6th Field Ambulance.
Methven.— instant, that proceedings may be taken against him for failing to notify his change of abode (Arms Act), Harry ; YoUligj age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and shepherd, native of New. Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, scar oh _ left. side of nose. On the sth April, 1929, he registered a -303 calibre B.S.A, rifle and left the district the following year.
