Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —17th ultimo, from a cabin on the ship “ Ruahine,” the property of JOHN JAMES GRAY, two khaki shirts with “ Plymouth Division Royal Marines, J. J. Gray ”on tab at necks; two pairs of socks similarly branded ; a yellow-covered naval passport marked “ D.E.M.S. Naval Passport and Paybook ” issued at Liverpool, photograph of complainant on back page; and £3 10s. in English banknotes ; total value, £5 6s. Identifiable except money. '

Auckland. — 10th September last, from a motor-car, the property of FRANK HUIA BARDSLEY, 23 West End Road, Herne Bay, a left-hand trafficator ; a right-hand door handle ; a windscreen wiper ; a six-volt Lucas battery ; a self-starter motor ; an electric fuel-pump ; a condenser ; a tool-kit; a jack and handle; and a spare wheel with tire and hub-cap ; total value, £35 7s. Not identifiable. Complainant’s 1938 model Morris 8 motor-car, value £l7O, was unlawfully removed from West End Road, and when it was recovered in Normanby Road, Mount Eden, on the 12th September last, the above-described parts had been stolen from it.

Auckland. llth ultimo, from the factory of WORTHY TAILORS, 323 Queen Street, a suit length of English worsted, teal shade, 15 oz.; a suit length of English worsted with green close twin stripes, 15 oz.; a suit length of Petone worsted with new green placed stripes, 15 oz.; a suit length of blue-green English worsted, 15 oz.; a suit length of brown English worsted, milled finish, 16 oz.; a suit length of teal English worsted, 15 oz.; and two suit lengths of blue English worsted, 15 oz.; total value, £22. Identifiable.

Auckland. the 17th and 21st September last, from a room at 8 Seacliff Avenue, Belmont, Takapuna, the property of GEORGE ALFRED ELLIOTT, a gentlemen’s signet ring (believed to be 9 ct. gold), with “ G.E.” on it; value, £1 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Helena Adams, married, living at 4 St. Aubyn Street, Devonport, who cleaned complainant’s room on the 20th September last. She has been interviewed, and her effects searched, but no evidence resulted.

Tauranga. Between the 15th March and 20th July last, the dwelling of TIIORA RAMSAY TREVELYAN, Mount Maunganui, was broken into and the following stolen : a four or six valve Gulbransen battery radio set, long and short wave, table model, one adjusting knob missing a four-valve Beethoven portable battery radio set, not in working order, cabinet covered with bluey fabric which is partly eaten away by acid; a double-barrel English shotgun, value £25 ; a ladies’ bicycle saddle; a set of English clock-face scales ; four large pale-blue towels ; and some Lifebuoy soap ; jellies; and cornflour; total value, £53 ss. 6d. Identifiable except soap, &c.

Naseby. or Bth September last, a room underneath the rear of the Town Hall, the property of the NASEBY BOROUGH COUNCIL, was broken into and the following stolen : A Lee Enfield Mauser rifle (recovered); a Lee Enfield rifle, 1896, No. 4980, S.A.T. No. 533 ; a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 3316, S.A.T. No. 531 ; a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 7226, S.A.T. No. 530 ; a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 5974, S.A.T. No. 529 ; a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 111720, S.A.T. No. 528; a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 2536, S.A.T. No. 527 ; and a Lee Enfield rifle, No. 1333, S.A.T. No. 526; total value, about £l6. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Terence Hendren, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair, no teeth; wearing green sports coat and trousers of darker shade, tan shoes (no hat). He has been interviewed by the North New Brighton police, but no evidence resulted.
