Taumarunui.— ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s Royal Enfield bicycle (recovered), value £5, the property of John Thomas Bradley, George Mita Renata, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, pages 21 and 120. He is usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and black shoes (no hat); speaks softly. The bicycle was stolen fron complainant’s residence, and it was recovered at Raurimu, having been abandoned there by the above-mentioned accused. /£> /'/*/£>

Palmerston North. —29th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, J. Cameron, age thirty-five, height 6 ft., shepherd, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion ; dressed in coloured sports coat and lighter-coloured sports trousers. Accused obtained £5 in money from George Vernon Simpson, hotelkeeper, Rangitikei Street, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount drawn on the Bank of Australasia, Palmerston North, in favour of J. Cameron, and signed “A. G. Andrews.” The photograph of Archibald Cameron, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 893, and Photographs, 1936, page 1, has been identified as that of “ yttws&l/fih/iio.

Addington. —For escaping from Sunnyside Mental Hospital on the 2nd ultimo, Frederick Charles McGifford, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, sallow complexion, round face. He is not to be arrested after the 2nd January, 1941.

Christchurch. l6th August last, on warrant for theft of £4 12s. 6d. in money, the property of John Andrew Veale, 50 Cashel Street, Edward Francis Nicholls, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 222, and Photographs, 1914, page 48. Complainant, who owed Nicholls 7s. 6d., gave him a £5 note to change and deduct the amount owing, but he disappeared with the whole amount.

Dunedin. For escaping from Seacliff Mental Hospital on the Bth instant, Leonard David Kay, age forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., butcher, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, large nose ; wearing dark-grey striped trousers, brown sports coat, and tennis shoes with a strap.
