UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.
Auckland. The watch described below was pledged with a pawnbroker on the 24th May last by Leo Douglas Morpeth, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 769, and Photographs, page 90, who has . been convicted of stealing it, but the owner has not been found : A gentlemen’s silver open-face keyless seven-jewel pocket watch, “ Dennison Watch Co., Ltd.” on case, movement No. 336797, case No. 436972, repair Nos. 11415/316 and 24/32 scratched on inside back case, black Roman numerals, black hands, about twelve years old.
Te Aroha.— The bicycle described below was left at the billiard-saloon of Godfrey Raymond Horne during February last by a Man (name unknown), who is described as follows : Age about twenty-six, height about 6 ft., slight build, fair hair going bald, thin face ; wearing a navy-blue suit without vest. He stated that he would return for the bicycle later, but it has not been claimed: A gentlemen’s blue, No. 180669/734, grey mudguards, Star Cycles transfers, Dunlop Magnum saddle, red Reid tires, upturned handlebars, rat-trap pedals, parcel carrier on rear, bell attached.
Dunedin. The bicycle described below was found in King Edward Street on the 12th September last, and the owner has not been found : A gentlemen’s black-enamelled roadster, No. 094484, upturned outrigger handles with red rubber grips, rubber pedals, Mansfield saddle, Eadie Coaster hub, red Victor tire on front wheel, grey Sentinel tire on rear wheel, transfer on rear mudguard with “ A. L. S. Cassie, Ltd., Engineers and Merchants, Dunedin,” on it, also transfer with Union Jack on it. The bicycle is not the property of A. L. S. Cassie, Ltd., and the transfer has been used without their knowledge and authority.
