Auckland. instant, for theft of a suit (recovered), value £8 Bs., the property of Frederick Davey, Alston Chambers, 63 Queen Street, James Stevens (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., slight build ; dressed in a navy-blue suit and navy-blue felt hat. The suit, was stolen from the above address and pawned on the same day by the man described. No warrant.
Te Puke. sth instant, on warrant for being an idle and disorderly person in that he has insufficient lawful means of support, Tai Raymond, referred to in Police Gazette, 1040, pages 646 and 771. jc&jj&cls G/ii/ud.
Wanganui. — lßth instant, that he may be located and interviewed regarding his alleged bigamous marriage with Lettice Elleanor Fenton, 630 Church Street, Palmerston North, Ernest Andrew Manchester, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 646. He went through the form of marriage with the above-mentioned complainant at the office of the Registrar of Marriages, Palmerston North, on the 22nd September, 1939, and, when interviewed, he admitted that on the 15th November, 1913, at St. Peter’s Church, Surrey Hills, New South Wales, Australia, he married Maria Broderick, but stated that she had deserted him, and died in Australia. Inquiries in Australia have resulted in his wife being located there, and he is to be again interviewed. No warrant,
Woodville. — 18th instant, on warrant for breaking and entering the dwelling of George Whero Bobs Milne, Masterton Road, and stealing £ls 10s. in money, a cheque for £5, and a wallet, value £L (all recovered except £lO 10s. in money), George Ivan Burlace, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 80, and Photographs, 1939, page 28.
Petone. 23rd instant, on four warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for ten days, two days, four days, and two days in default of paying £8 12s. fines and costs, &c., for wilful damage and resisting police, &c., Mervyn Joseph Doe, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 805, and Photographs, 1935, page 30. .
