Mercer. — Since the 30th ultimo, Herbert Kirk, age fiftythree, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand sallow complexion, black hair turning grey, red nose, wizened face, small feet; dressed in a striped suit and light-grey felt hat; fond of drink. He was suffering from delirium tremens and fears arc entertained for his safety. Ao ecJw (MIVMO . Greymouth. — the 19th instant, Myles Edffiinstsn, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., fireman, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes. He - was a member of the crew of the ship “ Kaimiro ” which was lying at Greymouth Wharf, and he was seen swimming in the Grey River, but he disappeared in the middle of : the river, and is believed to have been drowned.
