MISSING.
Mount Albert.— Since the 23rd September last, Jeffrey Cope, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, three or four natural teeth, has a moustache; dressed in a grey suit, brown pullover with zip-fastener, tan shoes, grey tweed overcoat, and light felt hat. Fears are entertained for his safety. (See Police Gazette, 1928, page 221.) Hokitika. Since the 4th ultimo, Kathleen Murphy, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 5 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion and hair, full face, natural teeth. On the 4th ultimo, in company with Christopher Pope (whose dead body was found on the beach on the Ist instant) she left Hunt’s Beach for Karangarua, and it is feared that she has been drowned while attempting to cross the Karangarua River. .
