On the 26th ultimo a man obtained a blank cheque on the Commercial Bank of Australia, New Plymouth, from Archibald Oscroft. Next day he falsely represented to Edgar Ernest Schroder (age sixteen), garage attendant, Central Garage, Devon Street, that he had been sent by his father to pay an account of £7 10s. 4d. which was owing: to Hie firm, and showed Schroder the cheque referred to above which was drawn for £l2 in favour of R. Invercargill. -25th November last, on warrant of commitment to Invercargill Prison for six days in default of paying £5 13s. 6d. fine and costs for being the driver of a motor-car failed to give way to approaching traffic on the right, Robert Phelan, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, strong build, fresh complexion, dark hair; usually dressed in a dark suit ; seldom wears a hat- ,_ - -fuaid//sWM Riverton. —6th ulfcii/o, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Susan Elizabeth Sage, and three children, Tuatapere, Hubert Ronald Sage, age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., plasterer and eheesemaker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, wavy brown hair, blue eyes.
