PROPERTY STOLEN.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —13th August last, from a motor-car in a lane between the Waverley Hotel and the G.P.0., the property of RONALD LIVINGSTONE, Marsden Road, Hamilton, a brown imitation leather suitcase, 20 in. by 15 in. by 6 in., stud front and back, containing a navy-blue suit; a pair of gentlemen’s black shoes, size 7, patent toecaps; a white pullover with roll collar, size 4, darn in centre of back ; a pair of leather gloves, size 6, “ Real Nappa ” on dome-fasteners ; two blue ties ; a white collar, size 15 in.; some shaving requisites ; and a Royal Hawaiian ukulele in case, new strings : total value, about £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. l9th August last, from a motor-car in Wyndham Street, the property of JOHN RICHARD MILLER, 47 View Road, Mount Eden, a gentlemen’s overcoat (recovered); and a black vulcanite Wahl fountain-pen, with “ Wahl ” on it, gold nib, gold filling-lever, gold clip, open end of cap has been filed off level with gold band : total value, £3 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Arthur Bennett, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, medium build, dark complexion ; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat. The overcoat was recovered from a pawnbroker to whom it had been pledged on the 19th August last by a man of suspect’s description.

Auckland. —Between the 24th and 26th ultimo, from a motor-car in the Dominion Motors, Civic Square, the property of EMBRET JOHANSEN, Waihi Beach, a gentlemen’s double-breasted heavy fawn overcoat, half lined, lining in right armpit has been repaired, full belt, large buckles; and a pair of spectacles in case, made by Grocotte, Hamilton : total value, £7 ss. Identifiable.

Te Awamutu. —During the night of 13th instant, from a shed at the premises of the Te Awamutu Dairy Co., the property of JACK WILLIAMS and another, a carpenter’s white canvas tool-kit; a Spear and Jackson hand-saw; two Disston D. 8 rip-saws, two teeth missing from one; a wood chisel, size £ in.; a wood chisel, size 1£ in.; two German jack-planes; a pair of wire-cutters, about 18 in. long; a cast-iron patent file handle ; an oil-can ; a cold chisel, 8 in. long; two claw hammers, one has “W” on each side of handle and on back of head; a bench tomahawk, “W ” on handle; a nickel-plated sawset; a leather waist belt; two new 8 in. files; a pair of 8 in. pliers ; a double-faced oilstone, in. by 2 in. by f in., in pine case ; a set spanner, § in. and f in., has j in. hole through shaft (most of the above tools have “J. Williams ”on them); a Disston D. 8 hand-saw; a wooden jack-plane about 18 in. long; and two bit rolls containing a number of bits of various sizes, some screw-drivers, an Auto push-drill, and a spokeshave, &c. : total value, £l7. Gisborne. —18th ultimo, from the garage of HOWARD VINCENT ILES, 121 Derby Street, a ladies’ silver sevenjewel Rolex wristlet-watch, No. 62589 inside back case, dark-brown leather strap attached ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.

Lyttelton. —lst instant, from sleeping-quarters on the ship “ Tainui,” the property of JAMES JOSEPH DEVLIN, a red box-pattern Kodak camera, small hole in top of box, takes V 120 film ; value, 12s. 6d. Identifiable.

Lyttelton. 3rd instant, from a cabin on the ship “ Tainui,” the property of EDMUND JOHN WESTROPE, butcher, a gentlemen’s gold open-face keyless Grovenor dress watch, Swiss make, black numerals; and a silver chain attached ; value, £2 ss. Identifiable.

Waimate. — August last, from a sample-room, in Gregson Street, the property of AENEAS HENDRY McLEOD, 9 Arthur Street, Dunedin, a gentlemen’s doublebreasted grey overcoat, fully lined, flap pockets ; a gentlemen’s double-breasted grey overcoat, partly lined, flap pockets; a gentlemen’s fawn overcoat, fully lined, vertical pockets; and a gentlemen’s double-breasted brown overcoat, fully lined, flap pockets : total value, £lO 15s. 6d. Identifiable.
