No instalments were paid, and on the 25th September, 1936, her husband sold the set to William Callan Sharp, 22 Finch Street, Auckland, for £5. Accused obtained £ls 2s. 6d. from the Farmers’ Trading Co., Hobson Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £2O drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Ltd., Auckland, No. L.D. 79200, payable to “ Cash,” and signed A. C. Cameron.” Accused called at the Farmers’ Trading Co. and stated that he was A. Cameron from the State Forest Department, Kaingaroa, Rotorua, and that he had previously bought a watch on time-payment system by mail, and that he desired to pay £4 17s. 6d. balance owing on the watch. He tendered the valueless cheque for £2O, and received £ls 2s. 6d. change.
