Brisbane (Australia). —A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Edward Goodman Elliott, charging him that between 18th September, 1936, and the 3rd February, 1937, at Brisbane, being the servant of Sydney Curran Mullen, stole £SOO, the property of the said Sydney Curran Mullen. Description : Age . about forty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., auctioneer and commission agent, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, chubby features, pleasant appearance and disposition; dresses well in washing summer or light-grey suits, tan shoes, and grey felt hat. The sum of £SOO was paid to Elliott as a fidelity bond to enable him to inspect the books of the proprietor of a bus service in which the complainant, Mullen, was interested. Subsequently the latter, on demanding the return of his money, was given a valueless cheque for the amount on Elliott’s client account. Accused has misappropriated other trust moneys to the amount of about £9,000. He is said to have left for Sydney with the intention of coming to this Dominion.
