EXTRACTS FROM NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Excluding Streets and Roads from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby exclude the streets and roads described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE. Situated within Dargaville Borough— Whangarei-Dargaville Main Highway No. 8 (all that portion from the north-eastern boundary of Dargaville Borough to the junction of the main highway with Bowen Street, a distance of approximately 40 chains). Bayley’s Coast Main Highway No. 444 (all that portion from its junction with Norman by Road adjacent to Kaihu Bridge to the western boundary of Dargaville Borough, a distance of approximately 1 mile 10 chains). Hokianga Road (all that portion from the north-western boundary of Dargaville Borough to the junction of Hokianga Road with Clyde Street, a distance of approximately 39 chains). Situated within Howick Town District Ellerslie-Howick Main Highway No. 89 (all that portion from the south-western boundary of Howick Town District to the junction of the main highway with Pigeon Mountain Road, a distance of approximately 41 chains).

Situated within Kaitaia Town District — Waipapakauri-Maungatapere Main Highway No. 1 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Kaitaia Town District to the junction of the main highway with Kaitaia-Motukaraka Main Highway, a distance of approximately 52 chains; and all that portion from a point opposite the Mangonui County Council machineryshed approximately 4 chains to the south-east of the junction of the main highway with Church Road to the eastern boundary of Kaitaia Town District, a distance of approximately 47 chains). Situated within Kamo Town District Lake Omapere - Maungaturoto via Whangarei Main Highway No. 7 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Kamo Town District to a point midway between the junctions of the main highway with Puriri Street and Meldrum Street respectively, a distance of approximately 34 chains; and all that portion from a point 6 chains south of Carruth Street to the southern boundary of Kamo Town District, a distance of approximately 65 chains). Situated within Mercer Town District Great South Road (all that portion from a point 14 chains south of the Pukekawa Ferry landing to the southern boundary of Mercer Town District, a distance of approximately 76 chains). Situated within Te Karaka Town District Gisborne-Opotiki via Motn Main Highway No. 15 (all that portion from the eastern boundary of Te Karaka Town District, proceeding thence in a westerly direction and terminating at a point 40 chains from the said boundary measured along the road). Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

T N terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment 1 Act, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the. maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE. Situated within Mount Wellington Road District and One Tree Hill Borough All that area adjoining the Great South Road from its junction with Sylvia Park Station Road to its junction with Sylvia Park Road, a distance of approximately 20 chains. IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare the respective areas described in the Schedule hereto to be closely populated localities for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section

SCHEDULE. Situated within Waikato County■ All that area adjoining Hamilton-Rotorua Main Highway No. 18 from the eastern boundary of Hamilton Borough as now constituted to the junction of the main highway with Paeroa-Hamilton Main Highway No. 17. All that area adjoining the Great South Road from a point 20 chains north of the bridge over the Mangawara River to a point 35 chains south of the junction of the Great South Road and Taupiri-Morrinsville Main Highway No. 493. All that area adjoining Taupiri-Morrinsville Main Highway No. 493 from the junction of the main highway with the Great South Road to a point 5 chains cast of the bridge over the Komakerau Stream.
