PROPERTY STOLEN.
Auckland. During the night of 6th August last, from the garage of ALFRED GEORGE LOWRY, 40 Lucerne Street, Remuera, a gentlemen’s single-breasted fawn tweed overcoat, size 3 or 4, fit man 5 ft. 7 in., “ Lynx ” on inside, slanting pockets, right pocket has small hole in one corner; a gentlemen’s single-breasted blue-grey raincoat, size 3 or 4, flap pockets, vented; a brown tweed plaid scarf mixed with cream and blue-grey colours, about 12 in. by 36 in., fringe at each end; a chromium-plated round petrol-tank cap of Dodge motor-car, spring type; and some benzine : total value, £7 14s. Bd. Identifiable except benzine.
Auckland. — or about the 20th August last, from the dwelling of DORIS WORLEY, 11 Arney Road, Remuera, a gentlemen’s silver open-face Baume pocket watch ; a ladies’ white gold Elgin wristlet-watch, No. 33637131, about 1 in. long and \ in. wide, gold hands and numerals, discoloured unbreakable glass ; a ladies’ gold round wristlet-watch, about size of a florin, Roman numerals, loose hands, dent in back of case; a gentlemen’s metal wristlet-watch, round luminous dial; a gold cable chain bangle, f in. wide, believed to be 19 ct. gold ; a V.P. Kodak camera, “ R. P. Worley ” scratched above film indicator ; a silver cigarette-case ; a • cigarettecase, bevelled edge ; two strings of creamy-white pearls ; a ladies’ cherry-coloured woollen cardigan jacket, no pockets, “Braemar” on piece of silk inside neck; and a brown fox fur, bushy tail, no lining : total value, £4O. Portion identifiable.
Auckland. —17th October last, the property of HENRY BELL, 16 Rugby Road, Birkenhead, a gentlemen’s English silver open-face watch, No. 5085, “ H.D.8.” on back, Roman numerals; a silver fetter watch-chain, similar to illustration No. 20 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2, pendant chain with two silver American coins attached; a small leather purse, clasp fastener; and a 10s. note : total value, £8 17s. 6d. Identifiable except purse and money. Suspicion is attached to Three Men (names unknown)(l) Age about twentyeight, height about 5 ft. 6 in., strong build, fair complexion and hair; dressed in light-brown sports coat, dark trousers, and dark felt hat. (2) Age about twenty-nine, height abou£ 5 ft. 6 in., strong build, dark hair and complexion; dressed" in a dark suit and hat. (3) Age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 6 in., ruddy complexion, dark hair; dressed in a dark suit and hat. Complainant was drunk, and while asleep the property was stolen from him. He remembers the company of the men described above. Wuckiani). — 19th October last, from Te Papa Bowling the property of ALEXANDER LAING MOON, and another, a Disston panel saw, branded “ A.M.” on handle; a German jack plane, branded “ N.Z.R.” ; a 1J in. chisel; and a 1-|- in. chisel (both branded “P. & T.” or “ N.Z.R.”); a 3 ft. new Rabone rule with “ A.L.M.” on brass; a Cheney hammer, branded “ E.J.T.” ; and other tools : total value, £6 16s. Portion identifiable.
Waiuku. —Between 21st and 25th August last, from the dwelling of DORIS META FLORA DAVIES, Kirk Street, an 18 ct. gold engagement ring, set with three diamonds ; an old broken 18 ct. gold engagement ring, originally set with two rubies and three diamonds (two diamonds now missing); an 18 ct. gold signet ring, worn through in one part, “ R.N.D.” on it; an 18 ct. gold wedding ring half of an 18 ct. gold wedding ring ; a bow-shaped gold brooch ; and ss. in money : total value, £22. Identifiable except money.
Huntly. —Bth October last, from a Maori Pa at Waahi, the property of AGNES EDWARDS, Kawhia, a suit-case (recovered), containing a greenstone brooch about 5 in. long, gold band in centre and on each end, one end narrower than the other; a gold Maori tiki about 1-J- in. long; a double blanket; sheets ; dresses ; petticoats, &c.; and £4 10s. in silver: total value, £l7. Identifiable except money. At the time the offence was committed some thousands of Maoris were assembled at the Pa.
Wanganui. 26th September last, from a motor-car in Nelson Street, the property of the GENERAL MACHINERY CO., a Matador electric vacuum cleaner, brown body with both ends nickel-plated, 22 in. long and 6-J in. diameter, mounted on three wheels, socket for plug has been handsoldered on inside; it was contained in a three-ply wooden box with aluminium beading round lid; value, £ll 11s. Identifiable.
Bulls. —27th October last, from a tool-shed, the property of MILTON BROOKIE, farmer, Pukehou Road, a set of stocks and dies in yellow box, “ Maker, Wells, U.S.A.” branded inside box and on tools; seven dies, J in. to f in.; a set of red pipe dies, “ Maker, Wells, U.S.A.” ; a large axe with red handle; a 3 ft. wooden rule; four pairs of black denim trousers ; two hammers ; a Hayes wire-strainer ; and a pair of blacksmith’s tongs; value, £l2 17s. 3d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about forty, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build; dressed in a grey suit. This man was seen about three chains from complainant’s house, and he may have been in possession of an old green Buick tourer motor-car with black hood.
Masterton. —7th or Bth October last, from a shed at the Public Hospital, the property of KENNETH CARTHOM McGREGOR, a black 2/ h.p. A. J.S. motor-cycle, engine No. E. 12-120260, single cylinder, side-valve engine, Dunlop tire on front wheel, glass missing from head-lamp ; value, £ls. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build ; dressed in dark trousers, jersey, and beret. A man of the above description was seen to wheel a motor-cycle away from the hospital. The motor-cycle is not registered for this year.

Wellington. 24th October last, from a shop in Cuba Street, the property of ELIZABETH FRANCES HUNTER, 17 Bay Street, Petone, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold octagon-shaped wristlet-watch, maker’s No. 46269, jeweller’s No. 187, white round dial, black Arabic numerals, attached was a gold expanding spring bracelet with peculiar catch fitted over usual safety catch; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Wellington.— 2lst October last, from the visitors’ room in Parliament Buildings, the property of WILLIAM TORRANCE DOIG, Otago University, a gentlemen’s fawn and brown check double-breasted overcoat, woollen material, silk lining, fit man about 5 ft. 10 in., in height; value, £6 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington. —9th October last, from the Commercial Travellers’ Club, or from a motor-car in front of his residence, the property of ALAN CAMPBELL BAIRD, 134 Dixon Street, a gentlemen’s single-breasted rough tweed herringbone Raglan overcoat, fawn-coloured with bright-green, red, and blue spots, half lined with shot-silk material, size about 3, fit man about 5 ft. 6 in. ; a leather key-holder with dome fastener, containing six keys A ale key, a safe key, a postoffice letter-box key, and desk and cash-box keys; and an Orlik smoker’s pipe: total value, £9 2s. 6d.
Timaru. — October last, from a motor-car in Hewling Street, the property of BRYAN BOYD, 376 High Street, Dunedin : An attache-case, 18 in. long, with “ E.J.M.” in gold letters on side; a fibre-cane suit-case, 24 in. long ; a fibre-cane suit-case, 18 in. long; a greenish-brown sleepingbag ; three pairs of grey flannel trousers ; two pairs of grey sox ; two coloured towels; a collar; a gentlemen’s black Speedo bathing costume ; a gentlemen’s black bathing suit; a pair of gentlemen’s black bathing shorts with' white belt; a gentlemen’s white canoe shirt; a blue sports shirt with zip fastener; a cream silk shirt; a patchwork quilt; a tartan rug ; a grey and blue blanket, with “J. B. Robert ” on it; a gentlemen’s grey felt hat, with “ F.J.M.” in band; a set of gentlemen’s pyjamas with blue stripes ; a gentlemen’s grey polo jersey ; two Valet safety razors ; a rugby football; and a set of boot brushes and pad. Portion identifiable : total value, £9 10s.
Timartt. 2oth ultimo, from a motor-car in Sophia Street, the property of VICTOR DOSSETT, traveller, 280 Otipua Road : Three cases each containing twelve bottles of Spey Royal whisky, bottles have flat sides and are club-shaped, cases are marked “ V.D.” over “T ” ; and three brownpaper parcels, containing a large quantity of tins and packets of tobacco and cigarettes and cigarette-papers of various brands. The parcels were addressed respectively : “G. B. Turnbull, Waimate ” ; “H. Smith, Waimate ” ; and “P. Stevens, Waimate”: total value, £4l. Whisky cases only identifiable.' ✓ - , ) n /a/a-* fv 3/3/
